Netgear has confirmed the distribution of Nighthawk M1 in Europe from mid 2017. It is obvious that many will not be ready to deliver Gigabit on their networks, but as stated above, things are progressing. Nevertheless, the Netgear M1 has many advantages and can, in the meantime, work on aggregated networks of carriers that deliver high speeds, pending the 1 Gbps.

Netgear Nighthawk M1 MR1100 4GX Gigabit LTE Mobile Router

The Netgear M1 implements several technologies, starting with the aggregation of 4 carriers, a 4X4 MIMO technology, and a QAM-256 modulation. Here now, this Nighthawk M1 router will only be used on the 4G LTE network of the Australian operator TELSTRA, which has an operational network for this technology. Moreover, the development and testing of the product were carried out by TELSTRA in association with ERICSSON and NETGEAR. Of course, this equipment will be distributed in other regions as soon as the operator networks are able to implement this type of transmission.

The covered frequency bands make it use in almost all the areas over the world. Netgear M1 and then travel to other countries or areas. The dimensions of the M1 Nighthawk are 105.5 × 105.5 x 20.35 mm with a weight of 240 grams.

Summary

This high performance 4G router is very well equipped, and offers the latest technology and has a really rich connectivity. The Netgear Nighthawk M1 seems to be the perfect 4G routers and we look forward to testing it fully.

3neo 4G WiFi Router(ZTE MF287) Features Review

$

If we talk about 4G router, you may think of a 3G wireless router with external antennas or other features. Today, we will offer a presentation of a LTE router which doesn’t look like a common router but very special and beautiful! The Austrian telecommunications operator "3" makes the router available to its subscriber’s package named it as "3neo". Actually, it’s from the Chinese manufacturer ZTE and the model number is MF287.

This 3neo MF287 router is a LTE category 6 device that allows download speeds of 300 Mbps and uploads of 50 Mbps. At this time, this router is exclusively marketed by operator 3 and, in fact, the wireless router is simlocked on its networks. However, it can be expected that it will soon be marketed directly by ZTE. Aesthetically speaking, the router has a wide band of light on the left side that displays the status of the device and on top side, a LED that tells you the type of active connection.

Concerning the connection, you will see the connection possibility on the back. You will find:

* WPS activation button

* 4 gigabit LAN Ethernet ports

* 1 RJ11 port for the phone

* 1 USB port (only for manufacturer's diagnostic operations in this version)

* The supplied 12V 1.5A power port.

* The Power button

You will also find the 2 covers of the external antenna connectors in TS-9 format. We recommend below the external antenna for the 3Neo/ZTE MF287 Router: http://www.4gltemall.com/4g-antenna-two-ts-9-connector.html

4G LTE Indoor Antenna (2 x TS-9 Connectors) for Huawei/ZTE 4G LTE Modems/dongles/mobile hotspots

Regarding the power supply, as you can see, this is a 12 volt source for 1.5 amps, which makes the ZTE MF287 3Neo router can work in a vehicle. What’s more, unlike other LTE category 6 router such as Huawei E5175, this router features an internal removable battery. This 3,080 mAh Li-ion battery allows the router to run independently for up to 5 hours of operation. So user can take the 3NEO Router on the go for outdoor activities.

The dimensions of 3Neo ZTE MF287 are 220 x 110 x 106 mm with a weight of 730g. It is a portable network solution for weekend or camping and is subject to recharge via a cigarette lighter socket. Finally, you will find the location of the SIM card in micro format under the battery. On the WiFi side, the 3neo has the WLAN feature of 802.11a/b/g/n/ac with the dual band in 2.4 & 5 GHz. The 3Neo router accepts the connection of up to 64 users. The similar LTE Category 6 router Huawei E5186 could also supports same quantity of users. The ZTE MF287 can also support 3G and 2G networks if 4G/LTE network is not available. The 3neo router interface offering the features of DMZ, Port forwarding, Firewall, DHCP services with filtering, network selection and setting of the APN. However, the function of bridge mode is not supported.

At this time, we do not have accurate information about the support LTE bands and the aggregated frequency. However, Austria uses the same 4G bands as France, at least band 3 (1800), 7 (2600) and 20 (800), and operator "3" uses B3 & B7. And we suppose the cat6 aggregate is done in band 3 + 7. But this need re-confirm.

Finally, user can control the ZTE MF287 router with the 3 home application on your smartphone, after flashing the QR code located on the router. We would take further test after getting the ZTE MF287 in hand. If you can’t wait to get a new LTE cat.6 router, you may try Huawei E5186 or latest Huawei B618 LTE Router.

LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Comparison

$

0

In the past two weeks, We Was ble to test and compare the new smartphone LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8 . The two flagship smartphones from South Korea offer the latest technology in a futuristic-looking, but they are clearly different from each other, as they follow quite different concepts. The Samsung Galaxy S8, which with the rounded AMOLED display is an absolute eye-catcher, on the other hand the LG G6, which scores with a dual camera. Which one of the two smartphones is better, you can read in this brief comparison.

Both are top smartphones technically

We do not want to go into the technical data of the two devices in details; you can find the description with all details on the website of LG or on the website of Samsung. In short, both devices are very fast and react as fast as you would expect from an expensive high-end smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy S8 has indeed the more modern processor/chipset integrated, however in the use actually no difference. Also with the software, both devices are in my opinion the same, we can’t find anything different about function from the two phones.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Highlights and Fault

In the following, we would like to take a closer look at the key features. On the Samsung Galaxy S8, this was the following:

  • Very nice, futuristic design (purely optical)
  • Excellent camera, top picture quality with photo and video, super fast focus!
  • Latest modem generation (LTE Cat16, Gigabit capable) and incredibly good frequency band support
  • Very good Net monitor with manual band-selection-function (can be called up by key code)

The Samsung Galaxy S8 has also some negative characteristics in our opinion, as the two-week usage phase has shown:

  • Camera: Resolution in the 16: 9 format with only 9.1 megapixels quite small
  • Device does not lie so well in the hand, the effect is slippery
  • Fingerprints can be seen very quickly
  • The battery could be better
  • The shining metal frame is annoying, it would be nicer
  • The curved AMOLED display of the S8 does not compare directly as the flat LCD of the LG G6

Especially the design has finally disappointed me somewhat: visually, the Galaxy S8 is the most beautiful smartphone currently in our opinion, but in the hand, the device does not look so handy. Probably it is because the glass on the front and back is so strongly rounded and only a very thin metal strip remains. The LG G6 looks not so good for a long time, but acts simply more solidly. By the way, the Galaxy S8 is comparatively narrow (under 7 cm) due to the 18: 9 display, but a one-hand operation is almost impossible without the need for extensive handling due to the extremely long display. LG G6: Highlights and Fault  The LG G6 can convince with some advantages, which the Samsung Galaxy S8 does not offer. We especially liked the following features:

  • Very good display, excellent picture quality
  • Is "solid" in the hand
  • Wide angle camera is a real added value

However, the LG G6 is not perfect; we have also some negative points on this device like the Samsung Galaxy S8:

  • Glass back susceptible to fingerprints
  • Camera picture quality might be slightly better
  • Device is a bit clumsy
  • No Net monitor available

The last point with the Net monitor is, of course, very individual and should be completely irrelevant to the vast majority of users, but I wanted to mention it, because the Samsung Galaxy S8 provides an excellent Net monitor. The LG G6 is also missing also wireless charging and the special audio amplifier in the EU version, but in the international version both is available. We do not mind at all, but some users may complain about this LG decision.

Conclusion: Which phone is better?

Before the comparison test, it was actually quite certain that most users would love the Samsung Galaxy S8 rather than LG G6. Why? The design of the S8 as we said extraordinarily well, optically it is simply a highlight. From a technical point of view, the S8 also offers almost everything you could possibly want. But after two weeks of use I have to say: the S8 has me somewhat disappointed. The battery was much weaker than expected (in particular, the Always-On display draws energy) and the S8 simply is not so good in the hand. Also in the display I was somewhat disappointed in the direct comparison to the LG G6, the curves falsify the colors sometimes quite strongly.

The LG G6 I like a little better overall, as the battery lasts longer. The G6 is well in the hand and the display is faultless. Also the wide-angle lens of the dual camera I have often used, it is not only a gimmick, but a practical function. The image quality of the wide angle camera is not very good, but the function is still fun. The LG G6 has a better advantage over the S8: it is much cheaper than the S8. From this comparison, there may be no problem between the two smartphones. If you want to check out new 4G LTE Smartphones, please click here: https://www.4gltemall.com/4g-lte-smartphone.html

In the forest of WiFi routers proposed by the manufacturer, some routers are sometimes only available in some countries. The new CPE Huawei B618 joins the family of 4G category 11 routers recently. As a reminder, category 11 (3GPP rel. 12) allows peak downstream rate of 600 Mbps and 50 Mbps in upload. The category 11 specifies the aggregate of 3 carriers (256 QAM) in download for a single frequency in upload. 2 x 2 and 4 x 4 MIMO support is possible.

Huawei B618 B618s-22d 4G Router

Here now in the market, there are two models for Huawei B618, they are Huawei B618s-22d and B618s-65d. They support different network frequency bands as below:

Huawei B618s-22d Supports:

- 4G LTE Band 1/3/7/8/20/38 (FDD 800/900/1800/2100/2600MHz & TDD 2600MHz)

- DC-HSPA+/HSPA+/HSPA/UMTS:Band 1/8 2100MHz/900MHz

- EDGE/GPRS/GSM:Band 2/3/5/8 1900MHz/1800MHz/850MHz/900MHz

Huawei B618 B618s-22d 4G Router

We suppose there will be other sub-models available Like Huawei E51864G LTE Cat6 router in near future to meet various demand from the network providers over the world. Currently, the Huawei B618 is only marketed in Poland as of February. Nevertheless, the displayed bands (and firmwares) should ensure good compatibility on F networks.

On the back side, you will see the power button, a WPS activation button. A USB 2.0 port is available for media sharing. An Ethernet LAN port allows wired distribution and a second port allows either an Ethernet output or a WAN input. This WAN input option assumes the presence of a Failover mode in the event of loss of either the WAN link or the 4G link. An RJ11 port is also used to connect a phone or fax. The AC power connector is located at the lower end, knowing that the Huawei B618 does not have an internal battery for standalone operation.

Huawei B618 B618s-22d 4G Router

Finally, a hatch (not visible here) contains 2 external antenna connectors for 3G & 4G antennas. The connector type is TS-9 and we recommend below the external antennas to get better signal: Huawei B618 4G Router LTE Indoor External Antenna: http://www.4gltemall.com/4g-antenna-two-ts-9-connector.html

Huawei Honor 9 Hands on

$

If you ask for a recommended smartphone with budget price, we would recommend the Honor 8 among the Huawei brand. The device was introduced in the summer of 2016 and offers a very good price-performance ratio. For a few days now the successor Honor 9 is available in Germany (we had introduced it here). It costs similar to the predecessor and optically has not done much, but the technology inside has been brought up to date. Basically, it is a Huawei P10 in another appearance and without Leica camera technology. Today we will see why the Honor 9 can be recommended for conscience to buy.

The Honor 9 is packed in a white cardboard box, the body colors are silver and blue. Later, a black version is also to be added. The silver version was provided for the test. The silver device has a very nice "shine effect" on the back, as can be seen in the photos, but fingerprints are super fast visible. In the packaging, we can find there is a hard plastic cover and of course a USB cable besides the device itself. As a connection, USB Type C is used; the power supply supports the Huawei QuickCharge technology, so the device can be recharged very quickly. A headset is not supplied.

Good first impression

The display is very nice bright and colors strong and true to nature. The full-HD resolution is absolutely sufficient, really not more needs with the size of about 5.2 inches. The fingerprint sensor has moved to the front in comparison to the Honor 8 and at the same time also serves as a home button. We find the positioning with the Honor 9 is very good, especially since the sensor also works very reliably and fast. In addition to the fingerprint sensor, two touch buttons for the multitasking menu and the back button have been placed, the assignment of the buttons can be customized to suit your personal preferences.

The camera also makes a good first impression. Honor 9 uses a dual camera with a 12 megapixel RGB sensor and a 20 megapixel monochrome sensor. Thanks to the HiSilicon Kirin 960 chipset, videos can finally be recorded in 4K resolution; the predecessor did not go yet.

Body: light and shadow

The body of the predecessor Honor V9 is especially rounded on the back towards the sides, whereby the Honor 9 should lie better in the hand. Now you can stand to glass backs as you want, we find them but always a bit slippery and not as nice as metal body. This is also the criticism of the Honor 9, it feels in the hand not as good as for example a Huawei P10 or an Apple iPhone 7 (both metal body). But it’s very successful about the reflections on the back: depending on light incident, the case looks darker or lighter.

First Conclusion

The Honor 9 is a good and consistent development to the Honor 8. The technology was updated, the internal user memory doubled from 32 GB to 64 GB. The dual SIM function is of course also on board again. With the multiple color options, we suppose most users would find what suit them. The Honor 9 is recommended for daily use if you don’t have many high requirements on the mobile phone.

Huawei E5180s-22 4G WiFi Router for Bouygues 4G Box

$

The French network provider Bouygues Télécom offers a 4G data plan for areas with poor ADSL coverage. The plan details has been using available especially in the areas eligible for this offer. The 4G data was offered to improve Internet reception for ADSL subscribers in poorly covered areas.

HUAWEI E5180 LTE CPE

HUAWEI E5180 LTE CPE

To do this, the operator proposes a 4G "Box" with a SIM card and an "unlimited" monthly data plan. The 4G Box is actually the Huawei E5180 LTE Cube, which is a 4G Wireless Router and working with the 4G SIM card. To look at it more closely, the LTE router provide WiFi signal with an Ethernet connection.

Basically, the 4G router is praiseworthy for underserved users, especially with an unlimited monthly data offer. However, this offer is accompanied by many restrictions that greatly reduce the notion of unlimited internet BOX, although it is important for users to provide better internet experience.

HUAWEI E5180 LTE CPE

HUAWEI E5180 LTE CPE

First, you have to be eligible for the offer. The offer only includes data, excluding the Voice and of course the TV. The Huawei E5180 LTE router is not mobile, so user can’t take it outdoor for holiday or weekend activities. Bouygues reserves the possibility of limiting the bit rates in video download to 2 Mbps if necessary.

HUAWEI E5180 LTE CPE

HUAWEI E5180 LTE CPE

The 4G+ is not available. The "BOX" Huawei router (LTE Cube E5180), was widely distributed by operators as part of data offer, especially by Orange at one time. The E5180 router only supports the 4G category 4, so is limited to a theoretical rate of 150 Mbt/s for download and 50 Mbt/s for upload. It’s not bad to compensate for a very bad ADSL speed, but damage for a so-called "widely" 4G+.

HUAWEI E5180 LTE CPE

HUAWEI E5180 LTE CPE

The Huawei E5180 supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n but is limited to 2.4 GHz. The 5GHz is not available. If the model is  Huawei E5180s-22, the supported bands are 4G LTE Band 1/3/7/20/38 (FDD 800/1800/2100/2600 MHz), and it supports up to 32 wireless users simultaneously. An RJ45 port and an RJ-11 port are available for WAN/LAN connection and telephone.

Huawei 4G WiFi Cube E5180 Package details

However, the solution of the LTE link via 4G Mifi routers is a good alternative for underserved areas in ADSL connection but correctly covered in 4G, the required condition is an adequate antenna infrastructure and backhaul Fiber capable of absorbing many connections with a large flow, a LTE router serving one or more PCs not the equivalent of a smartphone.

Actually, there is new LTE router available which is similar to Huawei E5180, and with higher specification, which could supports LTE-A network and faster downstream connection. The new model is Huawei B618, which is a LTE cat.11 router, you could check more details about if on www.4gltemall.com .

ZTE MF65+ 3G Mobile WiFi Router

For the mobile router, users usually require two things: easy to use and high-speed data connection. To meet higher requirements for network connection, the Chinese manufacturer ZTE had presented a new 4G mobile hotspot to the market. The model number is ZTE MF65+. The name is similar to its predecessor ZTE MF65, but they had different design.

The ZTE MF65+ 3G MiFi converts a 3G mobile connection into a Wi-Fi network. To insert a SIM card in the ZTE MF65+ 3G Mifi and then the ZTE MF65 3G+ MiFi start a Wi-Fi network. You can then make your tablet, laptop or smartphone connect to this wireless network and enjoy an internet connection. For example, if you have an iPad without 3G, after connecting with the WiFi from ZTE MF65+, the iPad would be online outside the door.

And the ZTE MF65+ 3G MiFi can support up to 10 WiFi devices simultaneously, your family or friends may also possibly on the internet (of course only if you give them the password for the Wi-Fi network). Moreover, there is no software to connect required to connect with the WiFi network!

The ZTE MF65+ 3G Mifi is supplied in a white version, and has an impressive industrial design. The OLED display shows the signal type, signal strength, battery status, Wi-Fi mode and more.  With ZTE Mobile WiFi app, it is very easy to manage ZTE MF65+ 3G Mifi. For example you can remotely control WiFi on or off, check the battery level and signal strength, read messages and find all connected devices.

According to the specifications from ZTE, the MF65+ allows to download data at a maximum speed 21.6Mbit/s and upload speed to 11Mbit/s. Of course, these speeds refer to "laboratory conditions". In real network condition, you may not fulfill this speed, but you will get fast enough speed for surfing.

ZTE MF65+ has a removable battery of 1500mAh, which is charged by using cable with the micro USB (as the typical smartphone). With full battery, ZTE MF65+ can keep working for 6 hours for data transmission, while it can stand up for days up to 300hours according to the manufacturer. With occasional use of the network you do not have to worry about charging your router. When connecting the MF65+ router to your computer, you can transfer files from an SD card, which can be placed in the router. You don’t need use additional software to do that.

With simple operation and fast internet connection, ZTE MF65+ is a good 3G pocket router to recommend. If you are wondering over buying a wireless router, then ZTE MF65+ is good enough with budget price. Actually, LTE is becoming the mainstream now all over the world, if you prefer to get high internet speed, you may check 4G mobile hotspots which support much faster than 3G mobile hotspot, you can check the 4G mobile routers here for reference: https://www.4gltemall.com/ue-category/lte-category-6.html/

You may use the Huawei E5180 LTE Cube at home for wireless internet connection. It’s a good wireless router in cool shape like a cube. With the development of LTE networks, the end-users and the network providers have higher demand for the user equipments. Here comes the new LTE router Huawei B618, which seems to be upgraded from the Huawei E5180 cube and in this article, we will see what’s the difference between the Huawei B618 and E5180, and what functions have been improved from the old one to the new one.

Appearance

Following the Cube shape design of Huawei E5180, Huawei B618 is also in white color, but has larger body and higher if stands on a desk. Perhaps because the B618 has more interfaces for multi-functions, the B618 weights much more than E5180. On the front of Huawei E5180, there is only one signal indicator and one WiFi indicator, but on the B618, there are three signal indicators, and the power, status, LAN, WiFi, mode indicators & WPS button are listed.

On the back, Huawei E5180s-22 has one LAN port, one telephone port and one power plug port. The E5180s-610 only has one LAN ports, no telephone port. Two connectors for external antenna are list at other side of the body. Huawei B618 has two LAN ports(one is also for WAN), one USB 2.0 port, one telephone port and power plug port. What’s more, B618 router also has the power button and two connectors for external antenna, which are covered by a small cap.

On the top side, Huawei E5180 has the Huawei logo but it’s empty on the Huawei B618 top side. They both have one label on the bottom, which indicates the model number, SSID, WiFi key/password, power rating, IMEI and S/N number, and other certification logo. The Huawei B618 has extra WPS Pin on the label. And they both has the SIM card slot at the bottom and uses a Micro SIM card.

Technical Specifications

As a LTE Category 4 router, huawei E5180 can support peak download speed up to 150Mbps and upload speed to 50mbps. The new Huawei B618 LTE Cat11 router could achieve almost 4 times of the speed from E5180, i.e download speed to 600mbps. Huawei E5180 can support maximum 32 users to access internet while Huawei B618 can support 64 WiFi users, which is double of that from E5180.

The WLAN standard of Huawei E5180 is iEEE 802.11 b/g/n on single band 2.4GHz. The Huawei B618s-22d can support the latest 802.11 ac besides a/b/g/n on dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz).

Management

The two routers could both be managed from the web interface in the browser, but Huawei also provide the APP to manage the routers from Smartphones or Pads.

It’s no doubt that the Huawei B618 with higher specs is much better than E5180, but frankly speaking, the Huawei E5180 cube is enough for most users at home or office. If you don’t have too much requirements for the router, Huawei E5180 is budget one to recommend. Huawei B618 is also good to recommend because it’s future-proof and would provide fantastic surfing experience under LTE-advanced networks.

Many people are demanding higher speed for internet connection, even when they are on the go for vacation. If the LTE network is available, user just need a reliable mobile WiFi router to fulfill this. The ZTE mobile router MF910 would do this job well for a good network partner.

ZTE MF910

The model ZTE MF910 is the big brother of our previously tested model ZTE MF65+. It offers the same features, but it is faster and more durable. Hard data: the MF910 gadget can be used continuously for 8 hours downloading data at speeds up to 150Mbit/s, in standby mode, it can withstand almost a week, and the maximum use of its services may as many as 14 other devices.

ZTE MF910

The manufacturer does not provide any information on the overstatement. ZTE MF910 battery in fact it is difficult to unload. Internet speed is of course dependent on the extent and network environment. The router I tested using a SIM from Plus network. Even outside the city to check it perfectly, even when the coverage rate on small but readable screen does not show the five bars. Without any problems I could browse mail, Facebook, portals and watch the video on YouTube.

ZTE MF910

I was surprised how well I downloaded from the Internet file weighs about 500 MB. In fact, I did not feel the difference in speed compared with that to which I am accustomed when I use the network in your own home.   There is no any problem regarding the hardware configuration. Comparing with the ZTE MF65+, it should be the biggest advantages of this router. Just turn the whole holding down one button. That's enough to be able to enjoy access to the Internet. All the smartphones and tablets that "paired" with the MF910 did not have any problems with that hardware. I can only complain to the location of the SIM card slot. It is devilishly difficult to correctly add to the router.

ZTE MF910

The whole body weighs 106g and the size is similar to a candy package (65x 14.6 x 104 mm). It's a little larger than the ZTE MF65+ caliber, but still there is nothing to prevent the router to throw in a bag or backpack, or put it in his jacket pocket.

ZTE MF910

ZTE MF910 is equipment that meets all the expectations from customer. It will provide high-speed internet in both the cottage and will save you and your closest collaborators, when the company's network will refuse to obey. If you are looking for a good partner for outdoor activities, ZTE MF910 is highly recommended. The most important, the price is aggressive for most users.

Since more and more network providers deployed LTE advanced networks, many vendors over the world are providing new LTE gadgets to support the latest new LTE networks. The US vendor Netgear Wireless and Chinese vendor ZTE are two of them. Netgear presents the Aircard 810s with support of LTE Category 11 and ZTE provides the UFi MF980 with support of LTE Category 9. In this article, we will check what the difference is between the two mobile 4G Routers.

Appearance

The Netgear Aircard 810s has a 2.44 inch LCD touchscreen, user can do simple settings like operating a smartphone. However, the ZTE MF980 UFi’s 1.44 inch TFT screen is not a touchscreen, so it can be operated by the power and func button, web interface or by ZTELink APP. Of course, the Aircard 810s could also be operated from web interface and Netgear aircard APP. The ZTE UFi MF980 is very thinner than Netgear Aircard 810s, so the feel in hand is better.

They both have two connectors for external LTE antennas and the connector type is TS-9. The connectors in Aircard 810s are located at the two sides of the USB ports with small caps, while the connectors of ZTE MF980 are together. And they both use Micro SIM.

Battery

The battery of Aircard 810s is removable and the SIM card slot is in the battery slot. The battery capacity is 2930mAh, which could support 11 hours for continuous use. The battery of ZTE MF980 UFi is built-in and can’t be removed. And its battery is 2200mAh, which is enough for daily use, but can’t be changed to backup battery. But they both don’t have slot for Micro SD card.

Technical Specifications

With Qualcomm Snapdragon X12 chipset and the support of LTE Category 11, Netgear Aircard 810s could support peak download speed to 600mbps. ZTE UFi MF980 could achieve download speed to 450mbps and upload speed to 50Mbps with the support of LTE Category 9.

Netgear Aircard 810s could connect up to 15 wireless users simultaneously while ZTE UFi MF980 could support up to 32 wireless users to access internet, on this point, ZTE UFi MF980 seems more powerful than Aircard 810s. Regarding the WLAN feature, they could support latest Wi-Fi 802.11ac with 2 X 2 MIMO on dual band(2.4GHz and 5GHz).

Other feature

The Netgear Aircard 810s has an extra function called Jump Boost, which makes it could work like a mobile power bank to charge other electric devices such as smartphone, Pads etc..ZTE MF980 UFi doesn’t have this function per the official description.

Conclusion

Comparing the features and specifications of the Netgear Aircard 810s and ZTE UFi MF980, it’s not doubt that Aircard 810s is better than ZTE MF980. With higher configuration, Netgear Aircard 810s can provide better performance for internet connection, but price would be higher. ZTE MF980 UFi is also good for most users with budget price. But the built-in battery may not be a good feature if you want it to work for long time.

Samsung Presents LTE Cat.18 Modem with 6CA Support

$
0
0

Samsung has introduced a LTE Advanced Pro modem for use in the Exynos chipset series, which is expected to achieve up to 1.2 Gbit/s in the downlink thanks to carrier aggregation, 4 × 4 MIMO and 256QAM technologies. The modem works with LTE category 18 and should be next to the Qualcomm Snapdragon X20, the first modem to provide such high speeds. The market for mobile radio modems is shared by a few large manufacturers, such as Qualcomm and Samsung, Intel, Mediatek and HiSilicon (Huawei).

LTE Cat18

In Europe, LTE of category 12 is currently being used (mid 2017), which corresponds to speeds of approximately 500 MBit/s at Vodafone. However, the development proceeds rapidly, the 3GPP Release 13 has also defined the LTE category 18 Downlink, which enables up to 1.2 GBit/s. The high data rates can be achieved by an extended antenna technology (4 × 4 MIMO) and by a better modulation (256QAM). Some of the features defined in 3GPP Release 13 are also advertised as LTE Advanced Pro, which is a further development of LTE Advanced.

First 6CA modem

According to Samsung, the new modem is the first LTE modem that can bundle up to 6 frequency bands simultaneously (6CA). Other hitherto available high-end modems can be a maximum of 5CA, many chipsets built in current mid-class smartphones can only 2CA or 3CA. In addition to 6CA, 256QAM and 4 × 4 MIMO, the Samsung Modem supports eLAA (enhanced Licensed Assisted Access), ie the use of unlicensed radio spectrum. For future applications, it is conceivable that network operators also use radio spectrum, which has so far mainly been used for WLAN (5 GHz range). Initial tests have shown that parallel operation of LAA and WLAN is possible without problems.

Use in the Galaxy S9?

The new Samsung LTE modem will go into mass production from the end of 2017 and is expected to be used in 2018 in new high-end devices with Samsung Exynos chipset. For the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, which is expected in August 2017, this is, of course, too late, but possibly we will see the Samsung LTE Cat18 modem in the Galaxy S9, which is expected to be released in spring 2018.

ZTE UFi MF980 VS UFi MF970

With the upgrade of LTE network to LTE Advanced or Advanced PRO, the vendors are also trying to upgrade their wireless gadgets so as to meet the market demand. As we introduced the ZTE MF970 UFi last year, ZTE presented a new 4G LTE Router ZTE UFi MF980 as a successor. ZTE MF980 UFi comparing to ZTE MF970.

Appearance

As we showed the images, ZTE MF970 UFi is in white color and the screen is on the middle of front with “ZTE” and “UFi” listed at each side of the 1.44 inch screen. Following this design, ZTE MF980 UFi also has a 1.44 inch screen and the same two words ZTE and UFi, but MF980 is in black color. But ZTE MF980 is thinner than MF970 and has long body.

ZTE MF980 has power and func button on the top edge, which is same to ZTE MF970, but the SIM card slot is also with the two buttons in MF970, while the SIM card slot is at the opposite edge in ZTE MF980. The two connectors for external antenna for ZTE MF980 are located together while the MF970 has two connectors located at each side of the USB 2.0 port, where ZTE UFi MF980 has USB3.0 port. On the back, UFi MF980 has ZTE logo on while the MF970 shows some information about certificate for CE, WiFi and RoHS.

Technical Specifications

As we introduced before, the ZTE UFi MF970 is a LTE Category 6 mobile router which could support peak download speed to 300mbps and upload speed to 50mbps. In real product, it may be the Vodafone R226 or R226Z model. As the upgraded model for LTE advanced network, ZTE MF980 UFi supports LTE category 9 technologies and peak download speed to 450Mbps and upload speed to 50Mbps. They both support the common LTE FDD & TDD networks with 3G UMTS and 2G GSM networks backward. On this point, there is no doubt that ZTE MF980 UFi is more powerful than ZTE MF970 if working on LTE-A networks.

ZTE UFi MF970 could support up 14 wireless terminals to access internet when working with a valid SIM card, while the new MF980 UFi can support almost double of the qty to 32 WiFi-enabled devices. They both provide the WLAN standard to latest 802.11 ac with dual-band.

Battery

Like Huawei E5786 4G Mobile Hotspot, the ZTE MF970 and MF980 are both with the built-in battery, which can’t be removed for change. One question that we don’t understand is that the newer model ZTE UFi MF980 has battery capacity to 2200mAh when the predecessor MF970 has larger battery to 2300mAh. Many of the current 4G mobile router with same level are with 3000mAh battery or even more. What frustrating is the battery can’t be removed for backup battery. So if you would keep them working for long time, you’d better to take a bank power with large capacity. On this point, the latest Huawei E5885Ls-93a seems more powerful with LTE-A support and built-in large battery.

Summary

There is no doubt that the ZTE MF980 UFi is powerful on technical features, especially on LTE advanced networks for multiple users with group activities. But the decent battery would limit its long term performance. ZTE MF970 UFi is also a mobile phone pocket router.

Huawei E5885 LTE Mobile WiFi Pro 2 Available

Huawei recently introduced a new 4G Mobile router as a successor to the popular Huawei E5770 Mobile WiFi Pro Hotspot: the Huawei E5885 (Mobile WiFi Pro2). The LTE router offers a 6,400 mAh strong battery, which is to allow up to 25 hours of operating time and, of course, besides the usual WLAN, an RJ45 LAN connection is again available. The integrated LTE modem is twice as fast as the predecessor with up to 300 MBit/s for download. The Huawei E5885 is only available in Asia now. In Europe, the device is only yet available.

LTE Cat6

The E5885Ls-93a version, which is currently available in the online market, is intended for the Asian market. Most of the packaging is labeled in Chinese or English and the supported frequency bands mainly take into account the Asian needs. Nevertheless, according to the data sheet from Huawei, the Huawei E5885 also supports all LTE frequency bands (volume 3, 7, 8, 20) which are important for Europe areas. Also UMTS on 2100/900 MHz and GSM network are supported.

In comparison to the predecessor Huawei E5770, the speed is also important to note: the support of LTE category 6, ie up to 300 MBit/s in the downlink and up to 150 MBit/s in the uplink. LTE Cat6 with channel bundling (Carrier Aggregation) is now used by many network operators and therefore one should notice the improved modem in some situations. However, it is not particularly advanced, because the Netgear AC810 LTE Hotspots have been available for long time, which can reach 600 MBit/s (LTE Cat12) for download.

RJ45 LAN & WLAN

The Huawei E5885Ls-93a is particularly interesting because it offers a full RJ45 LAN connection. This allows devices without WLAN to be connected to the network without any problems, without the need for additional software, as well as to use the Ethernet port for Internet access and to use the E5885 as a WLAN hotspot without mobile radio. Something strange, however, appears the fact that the connection is a "normal" 100 Mbps LAN connection, where the LTE modem can use up to 300 MBit/s.   If you want to use the full modem speed, then must be forced on Wi-Fi. According to Huawei, up to 32 devices can be supplied simultaneously with the Internet, the speed should be better thanks to 802.11ac standard (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) in the best case than over LAN.

Large battery

Another unique feature of the Huawei E5885 Mobile WiFi Pro2 is the huge 6.400 mAh battery. Up to 25 hours of operating time should be possible. As an alternative to the predecessor, the device can be used as a power bank, for which a corresponding charging cable is already included in the package box.

Summary

Huawei E5885 is a good mobile 4G Router with powerful function for multiple situations. It’s cool in appearance and supports LTE advanced network. When Huawei presents the English versions for global market, we suppose it would be great gadget star in future.

Huawei P10 Plus In Hand

Together with the Huawei P10, Huawei launched the P10 Plus in spring 2017. The sister model offers a slightly larger display with better resolution and has a light-sensitive camera. The P10 Plus also has its own way in the case. The technology inside can be seen: as standard, there are 128 GB internal user memory, 6 GB memory and an Octa core processor of the Kirin 960 type. The 3750 mAh strong battery ensures a long runtime.

Larger Touchscreen

In a direct comparison, it’s obvious that the Huawei P10 Plus is a whole lot bigger than the normal P10. Instead of a 5.1 inch display, a 5.5 inch display is used; the resolution was increased from 1920 x 1080 pixels to 2560 x 1440 pixels. The display makes colors very strong thanks to AMOLED technology, but a slightly higher maximum brightness could be well tolerated. In most situations, the screen is bright enough, but in direct sunlight, many other smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S8 would benefit clearly.

The fingerprint sensor is located under the display, same as on the P10, and can also be used as a replacement for the three software keys: Home, Back and Multitasking. Right soft-touch keys next to the fingerprint sensor are not available.

Beautiful case design

The case is made of metal for both the Huawei P10 and the P10 Plus. However, the rear panel has a crucial difference: the rear panel is slightly corrugated, the P10 is smooth. I personally like the back of the P10 Plus much better, it stands out from the crowd and the device does not seem so slippery in the hand. The case looks particularly nice in the colors blue ("Dazzling Blue") and green ("Greenery"), depending on the light incident, the colors change with the viewing angle slightly, which is a nice effect.

Camera with f1.8 aperture

Regarding the camera, Huawei has improved the P10 Plus compared to the normal P10. There is a monochrome sensor with 20 megapixel resolution and a RGB sensor with 12 megapixels, the aperture of f1.8 is here the decisive difference to the P10. The photos were very good in the test, colors were accurately reproduced and the picture was always sharp and exactly as one expected. If you want to get a bit more out of the camera or want to test things like long-exposure with tripod, you can do this via the professional mode.

Other technology

As an operating system, Android version 7.0 is used in the Huawei P10 Plus. The EMUI 5.1 user interface runs on it. I personally find the software very appealing, as it offers some interesting additional features compared to the basic Android and partly quite close to the iOS operating system from Apple, which is quite positive. Other users criticize more often that the EMUI surface is too colorful and playful - a criticism, which is certainly justified in some places.   With 128 GB internal memory and optional memory expansion via MicroSD card, the P10 Plus offers more than enough memory space. The dual SIM function is available in Asia areas.

The HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor proved to be fast and powerful, as expected from an expensive high-end smartphone, of course. Also the modem could convince: Reception and voice quality were perfect. In the LTE network, the Huawei P10 Plus can use speeds of up to 500 MBit/s in many areas. This is possible in the many networks by means of three channel bundling (3CA) and 256QAM modulation.

Conclusion

The Huawei P10 Plus has convinced in the test especially through its very beautiful metal body and the very good camera system. Especially the case colors "Greenery" and "Dazzling Blue" are unique. Away from the camera and body, the Huawei P10 Plus is quite unspectacular: it offers up to Wireless Charging almost everything you expect from a flagship smartphone 2017 and works fast and flawlessly. The AMOLED display of the P10 Plus offers advantages in comparison to the LCD of the Huawei P10 black value, but annoying is the vulnerability to fingerprints. All in all, therefore, my conclusion is: if you think the normal P10 is too small or its body is too simple, you may need get a good upgrade with the P10 Plus!

The back cover of the Huawei E5786 and E5885 can be opened, but the battery of them can’t be removed for change. The battery of Huawei E5786 is 3000mAh, which can keep working for 10 hours. While the Huawei E5885 has larger battery of 6400mAh, which would provide 23 hours working time. They both can charge other electric devices as a mobile power bank. However, the Huawei E5786 needs an accessory call AF18 adapter to make this function true. The Huawei E5885 can directly charge other devices without any problem.

What’s more, the Huawei E5885 has a special USB cable with the device. The USB cable can be used as a lifting rope, which is really a smart and practical design. The Huawei E5786 uses the normal USB 2.0 cable for charging.

From the comparison, we think there is no doubt that the latest Huawei E5885 is much better than the E5786, ont only on the design but also the practical functions. So if you are looking for a wonderful mobile hotspot, we think Huawei E5885 is good to recommend.

Huawei will soon be offering a new smartphone Huawei Nova 2 with dual camera in Europe. The successor of the Huawei Nova comes in three different colors and with dual-SIM function on the market, the internal memory is very generously rated 64 GB for a middle class smartphone. A highlight is also the front camera of the Huawei Nova 2, which has a resolution of 20 megapixels and is supposed to provide a very good picture quality.

The Huawei Nova 2 looks quite similar to the predecessor, whose display is quite compact with 5 inches in the diagonal for today's conditions. The resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD). As an operating system, Android is used in version 7.0 nougat, as the user interface is preinstalled with Huawei typical EMUI version 5.1.

The battery of the Huawei Nova 2 is 2.950 mAh strong, with a body thickness of only 6.9 millimeters, which is quite remarkable. Also remarkable is the internal memory with 64 GB, which is also expandable via MicroSD memory card, unless one decides for a dual SIM usage. The nova 2 has a combination slot, ie you can use either two SIM cards or one SIM and one memory card. As a successor, a HiSilicon Kirin 659 chipset (Octa-Core) is used, the memory is 4 GB.

On the back, the two camera lenses are visible - the predecessor came with a single sensor. The resolution is 12 megapixels, the aperture is f1.8. The front camera offers 20 megapixels even a higher resolution, the aperture is with f2.0 but slightly worse, ie there is less light on the sensor. For Selfies, the Huawei Nova 2 should be very suitable.

The Huawei Nova 2 is now available in Asia market. Some online retailers offer the device at different prices. The Asia version Huawei Nova 2 can be used with the network provides in Europe. As we know, the Huawei Nova 2 in China market is not customized by any mobile operators, so the nova 2 could be used in other network providers’ SIM cards. With the dual-SIM option, you may have more options to do the use the sim card and memory card. There is of course customized model for Huawei Nova 2, so if you would buy the Huawei Nova 2, make sure you choose the pure version with any customization.

Here now, the Huawei Nova 2 Plus is also available as the follower. With higher specifications and larger screen, Huawei Nova 2 Plus becomes a good competitor to Huawei Nova 2. If you want to know more about Huawei Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus, welcome to check www.4gltemall.com.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 LTE Cat16 Smartphone Released

Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Note 8 in New York few days ago. The smartphone is equipped with a modern LTE Cat16 modem and allows speeds of up to 1 Gbit/s in appropriately equipped mobile networks. In addition to the standard version, a dual SIM version is also officially available in some areas, which is in the note series for the first time. The other technology includes a 6.3 inch display, a dual camera and 64GB internal memory.

Case with Infinity Display

The Galaxy Note 8 looks similar to the Galaxy S8 Plus, it is only slightly more angular than the sister model. The display is 6.3 inches in size, has an aspect ratio of 18.5: 9 and is rounded off to the sides, which is already known from the Galaxy S8. The resolution is 2960 x 1440 pixels (QHD+). Since the edges on the sides as well as the top and bottom were kept as narrow as possible, Samsung applies the display as "Infinity Display". An important difference to the Galaxy S series is, of course, the S-Pen input pen, which is simply part of the Samsung Galaxy Note series.

The case of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is dust and water proof according to IP68. With 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.6 mm, the Galaxy Note 8 is quite large, but still makes a slim figure compared to other devices from the 6-inch category. The weight is 195 grams.

Dual camera system

A further novelty compared to its predecessor Galaxy Note 7 and the Galaxy S8 is the dual camera. The Note 8 has two camera sensors each with 12 megapixel resolution, one with wide-angle lens and one with a kind of tele-lens, so that like the Apple iPhone 7 Plus, a certain zoom can be achieved. The aperture of the wide-angle lens is f1.7, the telephoto lens has a diaphragm of f2.4. It is worth mentioning that both sensors have optical image stabilization (OIS).

Fast processor with Android 7.1.1

As a chipset, a Samsung Exynos 8895 is used in the European version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, the memory is 6 GB. About 51 GB of the internal 64 GB memory ex factory for the user are available, a memory extension via MicroSD memory card is naturally possible.

In addition to Gigabit LTE of the category 16, of course, all other current radio technologies are on board, just as one expects it from an expensive high-end smartphone. The Galaxy Note 8 supports WLAN 802.11ac with MU-MIMO antenna technology, it can support VoLTE (voice over LTE) and WLAN calls and it supports Bluetooth 5.0. Android 7.1.1 is used as the operating system. The battery of the Galaxy Note 8 is 3.300 mAh and can be charged both via USB Type C cable as well as wireless. A quick-charge mechanism is supported for both cordless charging and normal charging.

Dual-SIM Available

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 comes in September. While only a single SIM variant will be available in the free trade for network operators, a dual SIM version can be pre-ordered in the Samsung Online Shop. Currently, the price of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is at high side. If you can wait a few months, you will be able to benefit from a significant drop in prices.
