ZTE MF93E is a so-called "mobile hotspot" router. This type of device looks like space-saving mobile phone in pocket size, but they would provide just wireless network with router function. So users can go outside not just with one terminal, actually , in this case, up to 10 wireless devices could be taken if there is ZTE MF93E in hand.

Technical data

The ZTE MF93E supports LTE category 3 at 1800 & 2600 MHz (FDD mode), and 2300 & 2600 in the TDD modulation mode. The latter, however, is largely prevalent in Asia. The LTE band 800 MHz is not covered, which means some insignificant shortcoming in certain area and countries. LTE Category 3 allowed data rates of up to 100 Mbps for downstream and 50 Mbps for upstream. In addition, however, the router can also access major 3G and 2G standards to the Internet, such as UMTS, HSPA+, EDGE or GSM.

The WLAN module is working on 802.11b/g/n, so that internal networking data rates of up to 150 Mbps can be achieved. This is not necessarily "often state the art", but at least functional. After all, this is not self-evident; the operation in the dual band of 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz is possible. In addition, there are two TS-9 ports located on the bottom for connecting an external antenna to the receiving optimization. ZTE MF93E has a battery of quite handsome capacity of 2800 mAh, which should be sufficient for 9-10 hours operating time. Of course, the user can also operate on AC power, provided a power source is present.

Display

On the front, ZTE MF93E has built a color information display. This is partly for control and also displays any relevant connection status, such as the radio standard used or surfing data volume during the online session.

There is no doubt that ZTE MF93E is a very visually attractive device. Since the release time is too long ago in the first quarter of 2014, there are no technically new similar models for competition. The MF93E is most likely comparable with Huawei E589, which has similar specifications, but not all.

In conclusion, ZTE MF93E satisfies the LTE category 3, and supports the maximum speed to 100Mbps, which is good enough for normal use under good network condition. Also the battery is good enough with 3000 mAh capacity. But if you want LTE category 4 mobile WiFi, the best alternative would be the Huawei E5372, which is already offering LTE Category 4 and connection speed reach up to 150mbps. Whether you think ZTE MF93E is suitable for you or not, you must make your own decision if you a real good 4G pocket MiFi.

Compatible Operating SystemsWindows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7+8, Mac OS (above 10.4)

Huawei unveiled the device for more than one year; it is easy to find shop online for Huawei E3272. Now it’s already available for many European operators.     From the appearance, we can see huawei E3272 is not similar to E3276, which has a rotatable USB, while E3272 is a compact USB. Users should not be blinded by the lower model number after the "E". For Huawei means, confusingly, higher is not always new. User might think that the technology department rolls this out for the marketing department.

The most important is that we can benefit from Huawei sticks. Huawei E3272 supports the frequencies 800, 900, 1800, 2100 and 2600 MHz - hence the E3272 could work with all major providers in Europe areas. With unlocked Huawei E3272, user can travel to Middle East and Asia. As already indicated, the LTE modem is compatible with LTE Category 4, which can be achieved download speeds of up to 150 Mbps and upload speed up to 50 Mbps. In addition, the Huawei E3272 is backward with all relevant previous mobile radio standards (3G/2G). If located not at LTE coverage area, your device automatically switches to the next best technology, such as UMTS or HSDPA.

A key difference for E3272 and E3276 is the built-chipset. Here Huawei E3272 relies on a HiSilicon Balong 710 (V7R1). Also new is a "HiLink" mentioned technology, which we introduce the following short.      "HiLink" hides an innovation from Huawei, which aims to accelerate the start-up and thus to connect to the Internet enormously. After plugging in, as promised by the manufacturer, Configuration shall be unnecessary and it is online only 15 seconds. 15 seconds is for driver auto installation, setup, and connection! This is a small revolution in fact. Our editorial team has already taken several tests with various sticks, such as ZTE, in the past. Some devices need only  install the software for up to 15 minutes, followed by complex configuration and excruciatingly long load times if necessary. Now it is finally turned to the Web Interface. This means installing extra software is no longer necessary - the operation easily handled via the browser, so as the Huawei E3272. However, "HiLink" is not a novelty from the E3272. Various predecessors already had the feature.

One criticism, however, is still there. While many other models of Huawei have a swiveling USB port, which proved to be user-friendly, but Huawei E3272 is unfortunately missing this feature. When used in conjunction with a laptop, user has to connect the E3272 via USB extension cable.

The E3272 is a rock solid LTE stick, which is technically on the amount of time. Those who does not need a Wi-Fi hotspot, can safely access via E3272. The relatively low price convinced. Significant innovations and improvements are attractive.

Portugal is the first country where the new Vodafone B4000 LTE-Advanced Router is available. Since mid-June you can purchase your new router there, either without contract or with a mobile phone contract. And we can see there are many shops selling unlocked Vodafone B4000 without any contract. If you don’t want to be tied with the network operators, you can consider this unlocked one. The Vodafone B4000 router is manufactured by Huawei and there carries the model name of Huawei E5186. It is the world's first LTE router for LTE-Advanced (LTE category 6), depending on the tariff and network, up to 300 megabits per second in the downlink can be achieved.

The Vodafone B4000 LTE-Advanced Router will be available over the summer in Germany with Vodafone, we could look at the device 2014 at the CeBIT already precisely. The factory model Huawei E5186 is already available on the market without operators’ logo and customization, it would be great for those who don’t need the operators’ contract. User can buy Huawei E5186 as alternative.

LTE with up to 300 MBit/s downlink

It is the first time the carrier aggregation technology can be bundled support on LTE Category 6, with the various frequency bands. So you can reach up to 300 megabits per second in the downlink in a first stage with 2 × 2 MIMO antenna technology, uploads of up to 50 Mbit/s are as previously possible. The downlink of a doubling of speed compared to LTE Category 4 speed cannot automatically be used from any vendor supporting LTE Category 6: it is expected in Germany "only" 225 Mbit/s to apply on Vodafone, while Vodafone Portugal support up to 300 MBit/s.

WLAN ac and Gigabit Ethernet

The Vodafone B4000 or the Huawei E5186 installed the new WLAN ac for the first time in a cellular router as standard. Assuming a corresponding terminal to LTE category 6 may as well use full wireless speed. But not only the radio interface has been optimized, and the Ethernet ports on the back of Vodafone B4000 are much faster than in previous devices Vodafone B2000 and Vodafone B3000. They now offer speeds of up to 1 Gbit/s. Vodafone has already demonstrated LTE-Advanced in live operation at the CeBIT 2014. Press representatives could see speeds well in excess of 200 Mbit/s. according to a statement, Vodafone plans from March, the introduction of LTE-Advanced category 6 for the summer of 2014. with a start to the IFA technology, trade show in early September is considered highly probable in Berlin. Here many new products, services and technologies were launched in previous years.

The design of the K5150 is in red and white combination of the Vodafone colors, so both the hardware and software are branded for Vodafone. A sim or netlock does not exist, so there is no problem for operation with cards from other operators compatible.

Technical Specifications

The USB port on the Vodafone K5150 is protected by a red plastic cap and cannot be folded or recessed into the modem. So if there is limited space around your PC, it would be sometimes quite annoying to plug the modem. The brother model Vodafone K5007 features a rotatable USB, which is more user-friendly. Technically, the K5150 is part of the upper class: LTE with up to 150 Mbit/s downstream and 50 Mbit/s in upload, provided that the mobile network and the tariff also allow such high speeds.   The usable frequency ranges of 800, 1800, 2100 and 2600 megahertz cover all previously used in Germany LTE frequencies. And the modem is also usable abroad. Of course, 2G GPRS/EDGE and 3G UMTS are supported, so you can even use the internet where there is no LTE network available. In the UMTS network, data accelerator DC-HSPA+ is used to produce up to 42.2 Mbit/s download and to 5.76 Mbit/s upload. The usable frequency bands are limited here to 900/2100 MHz.

Connections and extensions

On the side of the Vodafone K5150, Two ports for an external antenna are available, and there is a slot for MicroSD type memory cards, using which one can use the modem as a storage medium. Up to 32 GB can be upgraded. The software supports all major operating systems like Windows XP, Windows 7, and 8 as well as Mac OS X and provides a good overview of the important information such as the data usage and the reception strength.

Availability

The stick is available from Vodafone Germany. There is unlocked Vodafone K5150 available on 4gltemall.com without any contract. Without contract, users can use K5150 with almost all the 4G operators in Europe. It’s a good device to take when you travel around. The Vodafone K5007 stick, which are similar to the technical data here, but additionally feature a swiveling USB port.

Also, the Netgear AC762S is designed for mobile use. When traveling, you can get all the family members with few handles access to the Internet. Here, only a SIM card with high speed contract must be inserted in the device. Another application would be to use in the mobile office. Employees or customers can optionally access via WLAN grant. The integrated Hotspot allows for up to 10 devices at the same time.

The integrated modem supports LTE 4G tariffs of up to 100 Mbits per second. While this is perfectly adequate, but Vodafone R215 (or Huawei E5372) offers even LTE Category 4 (up to 150 Mbps) in direct comparison. AC762S supports the 4G bands on 800/1800/2100 and 2600 MHz. In addition, the AC762S backwards compatible with 3G (HSPA, HSPA+ and DC-HSPA+) and 2G. Unfortunately, WLAN with the latest AC standard is not supported. Instead, the common minimum configuration for 802.11 to b/g and n at 2.4 GHz offered. On the bottom there are two TS-9 ports for connecting an external antenna and a USB 2.0 connector. In the router, MicroSD up to 32 GB of memory can be inserted.

LCD-Display

The LCD display on the front, provides an overview of all important data for connection such as the reception strength, the wireless standard currently in use, the power consumed in the session volume and the online time. Furthermore, the user can read the battery level and define the basic settings in the menu.

Easy installation

Like huawei R215, the installation and commissioning of AC762s router is a breeze. After the SIM card is inserted and the power switch is pressed, it can almost go. A software that is not necessary to install, as is common with most surf sticks. All configurations can be done easily via the browser. As an option, WPS-compatible devices can bring into your own network with a push of a button. Another similar feature for Vodafone R215 is that Netgear offers an app for Android or iOS, where use also read all the key data and settings can be made.

Since Netgear AC762S is a SIM free device, the router works with all European mobile providers. The R215 is in less price for around 30 € currently and offers better performance. To read more about Vodafone R215, you can check here about the review.

Vodafone K5007 is the first Vodafone surfstick that supports download speeds of up to 150 megabits per second. For this, the surf stick uses the LTE category 4 technologies, which was introduced by Vodafone in the summer of 2013. In some cities where there is no LTE network available at the current location, users could resort to conventional 3G network (or lower). Per UMTS or HSPA+, data rates of up to 42.2 Mbit/s are then still possible.

On the front of the white K5007, there is a logo of the provider Vodafone and also the software has been optimized for use with Vodafone sim cards.  After entering the SIM PIN, no additional configuration steps are necessary, since the relevant access data are already stored. The connection software is compatible with all major operating systems such as Windows XP, Windows 7, and 8 and Mac OS X. Important parameters such as the data usage, or the online time can be read at a glance in the software. The advanced configuration allows to manually selecting a network and the provider via the Setup menu.

The USB port of the K5007 provides a practical swivel joint, after plug to laptop, the modem can save much space, which is a clear advantage over many other LTE surf sticks. Through the support of LTE Category 4, Speeds of up to 150 Mbit/s for downstream and upload speed up to 50 Mbit/s are possible in the LTE network. Under the providers’ network, user can get only appropriate data rates. UMTS download up to 42.2 Mbit/s and upload 5.76 Mb/s are possible, further also the 2G network (GPRS / EDGE) is supported. However, the Vodafone network with upgraded to LTE Category 4 is available only in a few cities. It would take a few more months to cover all the cities.

Connections

On the side of the K5007, there are two connections for an external antenna. There is also an expansion slot for MicroSD type memory cards, using which one can use the device as a storage medium. The memory card may be up to 32 gigabytes in size, so that it is detected by the modem.

Conclusion

The K5007 stick is with a modem for extremely fast data connections, so Vodafone has a high quality stick once again in the pipeline. It is now available in the shop www.4gltemall.com. As alternatives, you can consider the technically identical offer, for example, Huawei E3276 or Vodafone K5150, or to. Both devices support LTE with up to 150 megabits per second like Vodafone K5007.

Huawei Prime E5878 4G Mobile Hotspot First View

At IFA in Berlin, Huawei has shown the E5878 LTE router for first time, a very thin mobile hotspot with metal frame and glass covers. The size of new router E5878 is only as small as a credit card; it is only about 7.5mm thick and weighs only 80 grams including battery. On the technical side, the Huawei E5878 offers LTE with up to 150 MBit/s in downlink and an operating time of up to 8 hours.

Huawei Prime E5878 is the first mobile hotspot from Huawei, which was developed with a focus on design. It is much smaller, thinner and smarter than most devices currently available and could therefore attract more audiences. Unlike other mobile hotspot, Huawei E5878 appears in unusual colors such as light blue, gold and pink to meet users various demand. Not only E5878 focus on design and materials, but also Huawei E5878 dominates in the technical data. It offers LTE Category 4 with up to 150 MBit/s in downlink and 50 Mbit/s in the uplink, what’s more, DC-HSPA+ UMTS network are backward. If the Huawei E5878 is unlocked, it would support a lot of bands to be operational worldwide.

The operation is done in the browser via a web interface or via App for Smartphone and Tablet. The Huawei Mobile WiFi app is available for both Android and iOS and of course also shows important status information such as the consumed data volume. On the front of the Huawei E5878, a small OLED display is attached with a diagonal of just one inch.  Next to the network operator, the battery and the network available are displayed and the data volume and the online time. It’s a pity that the WLAN module in the Huawei E5878 supports only connections in the frequency range of 2.4 GHz (802.11b/g/n). This could prove to be a disadvantage in some situations, because this frequency range is overloaded quickly in some places such as trade shows or events. In total, a maximum of 10 devices can be connected simultaneously via Wi-Fi with the E5878, a secondary user can use the Internet connection via USB.

Use Huawei Prime to stay online for up to 8 hours of use in LTE mode or 380 hours of standby time provided by the 1900 mAh battery. What’s more, all of these features can be controlled remotely by a smartphone using the ‘Huawei Mobile WiFi’ application available to download via major app stores. Huawei Prime comes in white and black, and will be available in Europe, Middle East, and other markets from mid-September. Customized versions including sunny gold, peach pink or turquoise green, with polka dot or diamond texture effects, will also be available in selected markets.

Huawei Prime E5878 VS Huawei E5786 Mobile Hotspot

More and more Huawei 4G pocket Wifi hotspots are available in the market, some customers feel confused about the models. Now there are two new mobile hotspots, Huawei E5786 and Huawei Prime E5878. Some customers just know their name, but what's the key difference between them? Any difference about the specifications? That's the big concern.

Today, we will tell the real difference between the two models. From three aspects, we can see the difference.

Appearance

From the first sight, we can see Huawei Prime E5878 is more like a mobile phone, not a pocket hotspot. Huawei E5786 looks like the predecessor Huawei E5776. The body of them are very slim size like a credit card, just for one hand. The thickness of Huawei E5878 is just 7.5 mm, we suppose it's the thinnest 4G Mobile WiFi Hotspot. Because Huawei E5786 has more power capacity of battery, it's thicker than E5878. They both look cool, but we like Huawei E5878 more because the body feels good and it's more like a iPhone. It would be perfect partner for Apple gadgets, such as iPhone, iPad.

Huawei E5878 has the power button on the body side while the power button of E5786 is on the front side besides the screen. The screen will help user know more details about the connected status, such as data used, WiFi password, network operator, battery status and connected user numbers etc...

Technical Specifications

This should be the key difference. Huawei Prime E5878 is a LTE Category 4 Hotspot supporting download speed to 150Mbps and upload speed to 50Mbps. Huawei E5786 is much more powerful than E5878. E5786 can support download speed to 300Mbps, almost double of the speed from Huawei Prime E5878. What's more, the upload speed of E5786 can reach 150Mbps, which also dominates the 4G mobile WiFi hotspots. They both support 3G UMTS/DC-HSPA+ networks.   Both of them could support up to 11 wireless devices to access internet. But Huawei E5878 has only 1900mAh battery while Huawei E5786 has larger power capacity to 3000mAh, which makes it can be a power bank for smartphones or Pads. To make the devices work more stable, their batteries are irremovable and rechargeable.

SIM card slot

The Huawei Prime E5878 has a SIM slot like iPhone, and the SIM card is NANO Sim, the Huawei E5786 is still using the standard 6-pin SIM card and no SIM card slot.

Antenna

They both have built-in antennas to strength the signal. But if you want to have better data connection, Huawei E5786 would be better because it has two external antenna connectors (TS-9 type), which can connect high-gain antenna. It's a pity that Huawei Prime E5878 doesn't has external antenna connector. For normal use at home or office, it will not influence the wireless connection. But in poor signal area, it would be a headache if data transfer in slow speed.

After our introduction, you may have a general idea for the Huawei Prime and Huawei E5786. If you want to experience the latest technology, Huawei E5786 would be a good option. But if you want to a cool pocket WiFi, Huawei Prime E5878 would be enough for use.

Huawei is always the leaders for wireless terminals. And the most popular and well-known products are Huawei E5 pocket WiFi. Around the end of 2014, we get to know a new mobile WiFi hotspot named Huawei Prime E5878(also named Huawei E5878).

Huawei E5878 Image

This new 4GLTE pocket WiFi was already available for UK network operator EE. The model is Huawei E5786s-32. When we first look at the Huawei Prime, we thought it's a slim mobile phone because it's really very thin that looks like a small size iPhone. After we read the specifications, we know this is a new wireless hotspot.

Different from other Huawei Mobile WiFi, Huawei Prime E5878 has better craftsmanship, which makes very attractive. The slim size makes it perfect to take outdoors and in pockets. There is a LED screen which will show the connected network operator, WiFi SSID and password, battery status, connected user numbers, online login address and the used data statistics.

HUAWEI Prime E5878 Screen

We cannot find the port for external antenna in the Huawei E5878. This feature ensures the thickness of this smart hotspot. But we feel worried if users connect it in rural areas. Currently, most users prefer to connect an external antenna to the mobile hotspot so as to have better signal and stable data transmission.

Huawei E5878 SIM Slot

What amazing is we found the design of Huawei Prime is special than its predecessors. The SIM card is in Nano size which has to be put in a SIM slot and insert to the body. This feature just learnt from Apple iPhone. We think this is good because it can stabilize the performance when connecting wireless network.

The battery in the Huawei Prime is rechargeable but unremoveable. It's a pity that the battery capacity is only 1900mAh, which can support only 4-5 working hours. Most users want the 4G hotspots to have large capacity so that their mobile phones or Pads can get better battery support.

Now the shop 4GLTEMALL.COM can supply unlocked Huawei Prime E5878, if you want to change your data plan or roam to other countries in Europe, Huawei E5878 would be a good option because the unlocked on could work with Vodafone, Orange, Tenelor, Testra and other network operators in Asia and Middle East.

We are not sure whether LTE Category 6 technology is already applied in Vodafone 4G LTE networks, but we are glad to find that the latest 4G LTE Category 6 mobile hotspot is available for Vodafone plan. The model number is Vodafone R226.

The Vodafone R226 is upgraded from the predecessor Vodafone R215, which is with LTE Category 4 technology. The R215 could reach peak download speed to 150Mbps and upload speed to 50Mbps. R226 hotspot is much more powerful than R215. The downlink speed of R226 could reach 300Mbps and uplink speed to 50Mbps. The link speed is double of the speed on R215.

The appearance of R226 is somewhat like R215, the power button and logo are both besides the LCD screen. They both have two external antenna connectors. The antenna connectors of R226 are covered by a cap while the two antenna connectors of R215 are at the bottom side, but separately. The connectors are for LTE Mimo antenna.

Vodafone R226 has much larger power capacity than R215; the capacity is 3000mAh, which could support up to 10 continuous working time. What’s more, the R226 could provide the power charge to other electronics such as smartphones, Pads etc… Just like R215, R226 could also help up to 10 wireless devices to access internet. They provide the wireless network in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. They both could be managed by Vodafone Mobile Wi-Fi smartphone app.

Vodafone R226

As we know, Vodafone R215 comes from the factory model Huawei E5372. This time, Vodafone R226 also comes from Huawei, the factory model is the latest and hottest Huawei E5786 mobile hotspot.  Vodafone customized the logo and firmware, then it becomes R226.

On one side, there is a Micro USB connector, user can recharge the Vodafone R226 battery, but the battery of R226 is unremovable, so users have to recharge it after it power off. The Micro-SIM and Micro SD card are also at the side of Vodafone R226.

Vodafone R226 is the first LTE category 6 mobile WiFi hotspot. In this year, Vodafone already released the first LTE Category 6 wireless router named B4000. As we know, the peak download speed on Vodafone 4G network could reach 225Mbps now. But we suppose Vodafone will upgrade the network in 2015 spring. The R226 will show its best performance at due time.

After acquisition of Sierra Wireless, Netgear has expanded the range of wireless products such as wireless aircards. Now many new products come available in Europe and Australia. Now we get the new mobile pocket router from Netgear, model number is Aircard 785s hotspot.

Netgear Aircard 785s Appearance

The Aircard 785s comes in a small box. With the AC785S, there is a battery with a capacity of 2000mAh and A USB cable for charging power with output of 1A at 5V. Both the front and the back are decorated with triangular elements. This feature not only looks good, but also raises it from other boring designed models from competitors.  On the back, there is only “Netgear” logo on it. At the bottom side, there are two external antenna connectors. They are TS-9 type and covered by small cap. Between the two antenna connectors, one micro USB interface is used for power charge. The battery for the Netgear AC785s is removable and the Micro SIM card is covered by battery. The stick at the side of SIM card slot lists the model number Aircard 785s, IMEI number and MAC ID for the AC785S.

The power button is on the top side of the body, and the microSD card slot is beside the power button. Once you have inserted the MicroSIM and its battery, and closed the door on the back, you can start the device using the power button on the top.  The color display on the front provides all the key information such as network operator, SSID and wifi code, battery status, data used and signal strength etc.

Aircard AC785S Technical Features

To setup the Aircard 785s, no other devices are required. All essential settings can be done directly on the display and the buttons on the top side. Up to 15 devices can be simultaneously connected via Wi-Fi with the AC785s. The wireless password is displayed on the screen. If you want to make additional settings on the device or want to see information, Netgear has developed a very good app for Android and iOS; almost all possible settings can be made with the APP. You can also access to the router via a web interface in the PC browser.

Netgear AC785S could support LTE, UMTS and GSM networks. With the LTE Category 4 technology, Aircard 785s could reach peak download speed to 150Mbps and upload speed to 50mbps. It can work well on the LTE-FDD Frequency bands around 800/850/900/1800/2100/2600MHz and TD-LTE band 2600MHz. This feature makes the AC785S could roam all over the world, but it’s not suitable for North America. On the UMTS network, the data speed could reach up to 42Mbps and upload speed to 5.76Mbps.

Netgear AC785S External Antenna

If you want the Netgear 785s works better in rural areas with weak signal, the external antenna may be necessary. You need buy 4G Antenna with two Ts-9 connectors. The antenna is now available on 4gltemall.com . The antenna could support MIMO technology which improves the data transfer rates.

It seems the LTE category 4 UEs are now the mainstream in the market. More and more wireless routers, mobile hotspots or USB dongles are available to better support the upgraded networks from the operators. But we also see some new devices with new technology which is available for some providers. We had introduced two LTE Category 6 mobile hotspots last year: Huawei E5786 and ZTE flare. Today, we will intoduce a new LTE pocket WiFi router Netgear 790s.

The Netgear 790s also named aircard AC790s. It's now available for Australian network provide Telstra. And it's named Telstra 4G WiFi Advanced II which is upgraded from its predecessor Netgear AC782s. The Aircard 782s is a LTE Cat4 mobile WiFi which supports peak download speed to 150Mbps and upload speed to 50Mbps. The upgraded Aicard 790s could achieve double speed than AC782s, i.e 300Mbps for downstream. It's amazing!

The appearance of AC790s looks similar to Aircard 782s but seems cooler. With more powerful battery, AC790s could work much longer time than its predecessor. Aircard 790s is decently sized, fitting into your palm. On the bottom, you can find two external antenna ports, a microUSB 3 port (though only a microUSB 2 cable is included in the box) – presumably to make the most out of tethering over USB. On top, there is a power button.

The front of Netgear AC790S is a touchscreen, with home and back capacitive buttons on the right side. User can operate the major features and the settings here and don’t need to open up the Aircard APP or the web based UE. User can see the connected devices quantity and change WiFi settings(enable dual band WiFi, block/unblock devices by MAC, turn on guest wifi, easily connect devices that support WPS). User can also enable the airplane mode, change network settings such as lock to 3G, 4G or Auto mode, view the network status, and see the data usage at a glance.

The back of Aircard 790s is equipped with a removable battery, with the micro-SIM slot hidden underneath. So before power on, you’ll need to pull the battery out to swap cards around. The “Telstra” logo is on the top left, with ‘WiFi Advanced’ also stamped on the front. The battery cover on the back has a subtle ‘Netgear’ logo included.

The Telstra Wi-Fi 4G Advanced II is a excellent mobile hotspot for anyone who needs the internet while on the go; with support for to get the best out of 4G today, and ready for more 4G into the future.

At the beginning of the New Year, Huawei release many new models to the market, including USB sticks, mobile hotspots and wireless routers. We believe they have better performance than the predecessors to support the upgraded networks from providers. We get a new 4G LTE pocket WiFi Huawei E5377 in white color this week. If you had read our introduction, you may still remember the brother model Huawei E5372. Their names are similar and most of features are also same.

The E5377 has a 1.45inch LCD screen which is to show the important information when working. The network providers' name, battery status, connected users, signal strength and used data will show in the screen. The huawei logo and power button are at the two sides of the screen. Like huawei E5372, E5377 has two external antenna connectors in case poor signal. The Huawei E5377 is also pocket sized and easy to take in hand outdoors or on trip.

On the top side, the Menu button is there for operation. At the below side, the two ports for external antenna are covered a cap. The back cover is removable and the battery is rechargeable and changeable. The MicroSD card can be used in the E5377, and user can share the files or documents in SD card to connected users. Up to 10 wireless devices could get connected with the E5377 hotspot. Aside from allowing up to 10 WiFi devices to connect to the AP, the E5377 can last up to 6 hours on a single full charge. The older models have between 4 to 5 hours so 6 hours on the new one is around 20-30% longer. Before sharing the contents in SD card, user has to setup to let them free to access. Unlike Netgear wireless aircard, users has to log in the admin panel via web browser or huawei mobile Wifi APP.

The attracting feature for Huawei E5377 is that it could fast connect in 5 seconds. It can support the peak download speed to 150Mbps and upload speed to 50mbps based on Qualcomm chipset MDM9625. Aside from the LTE capability, the WiFi AP supports dual band at 2.4GHz and 5GHz. User can choose between the usual 2.4GHz WiFi band or switch to the 5GHz band. The dual-band capability allows for less interference, faster wireless speeds, and more channels to choose from.

Actually, Huawei E5377 has a brother partner E5377T, with the “T”, E5377T has larger power capacity and is thicker than E5377. Some users may need longer working time, the E5377T can work much longer than no “T”. If you want to buy them, you can check www.4gltemall.com .

Huawei E5786 – World’s first LTE Advanced Router

You may think the device is a new Huawei quite cheap-looking phone as you want. However, as the unique representative, Huawei E5786 is on behalf of the Chinese network technology. The E5786 makes Huawei became the first company to introduce a router for new technologies of LTE Category 6.  It is the world's first mobile wireless router that also supports LTE networks of Category 6, the so-called LTE Advanced, which provides the double speed than the current LTE category 4 technology.

So the Huawei E5786 router offers data rates up to 300 Mbit/s, while previous cat-4 models provides only peak speed to 150 Mbit/s. Of course, a network operator must also once support these speeds - currently 100 Mbit/s is available in most European countries. However, you will already be prepared for the future with the E5786. Just recently, the German Telekom has proven that at least in theory, he could realize data rates of 580 Mbps. In addition, the E5786 LTE router of course also offers the possibility those 3G networks with up to 42 Mbit/s to use downstream. On WLAN all current standards are supported: 802.11 a / b/g/n/ac.

The E5786 router equipment is thin and in pocket size, and there is only one interface for USB. The SIM card slot is just at the side of a microSD memory card slot. The Huawei E5786 router could be managed via the web interface or via an app(Huawei Mobile WiFi app), the top-mounted display also allows the retrieval of the current settings from an extensive menu. Further more, there is even a connection for an external antenna hiding behind the removable cover.

A 3000mAh battery should make for enough battery life to last a working day with one or two devices connected. Add more phones or tablets or start leaning heavily on the Wi-Fi and you’ll see battery life drop quickly, though. The E5786 is 15.9mm thick, weighs 149g, and is apparently inspired by the curve of a rainbow.

Here now, many network providers introduced the Huawei E5786 to their plan, which makes E5786 have many variant models. As we know, there are Huawei E5786s-32a (Speedbox LTE mini II), E5786s-62a (Telstra Wi-Fi 4G Advanced Pro X), and E5786s-63a (Optus WiFi Modem) LTE products. But there is unlocked units of Huawei E5786 on www.4gltemall.com and user can use the Huawe E5786 freely without limit.

Vodafone Introduced new mobile hotspots this year from the manufacturer Huawei and ZTE. Vodafone customized its brand to them and put them in its product range. As we introduced before, Vodafone R226 is a high-end LTE Pocket WiFi Router, now Vodafone Group introduced two new mid-price range MiFi hotspot Vodafone R216 (manufacturer by Huawei) and Vodafone R216-Z (manufacturer by ZTE). Both of them can support LTE Cat4 with up to 150Mbit/s in the downlink and have a powerful module with 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

Vodafone R216 is the successor of the Vodafone R215 mobile WiFi. They are both made by Huawei. There are three LEDs on the front of R216. The battery, message and network status can be shown on the LEDs. If user wantS to know more information, the Vodafone Mobile WiFi App (for smartphone and tablet) may help. User can also log in the web interface in browser to check more details. The Vodafone R216 is available for black and white color with replaceable battery for capacity of 1500mAh, which can continue working for 6 to 8 hours.

The R216 could support almost all the mainstream LTE frequency bands (800/850/900/1800/2600 MHz) in Europe. The chipset in Vodafone R216 comes from Huawei HiSilicon Balong 711. It can support the maximum download speed to 150mbps based on the LTE category 4 technologies. In addition, the DC-HSPA+ and GSM/EDGE network could also be backward supported. On the DC-HSPA+ download speed to 42.2Mbps and upload speed to 5.76Mbps.

Vodafoe R216-Z is manufactured by ZTE, so it’s also called ZTE R216-z. The R216-Z is better than Huawei R216 because R216-Z has a battery of 2300mAh capacity, which is slightly stronger and there is a wireless repeater function. The R216-Z supports the same frequencies and radio technologies as Huawei R216, but the chipset comes from Qualcomm MDM9225, not Hisilicon modem.

Vodafone R216 and R216-Z both look cool, but it seems Vodafone R216-Z is better than R216-Z. We will introduce more details when we get the sample and test them. We suppose users may get some tips from our test.

Huawei E5377 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot Test

We had generally reviewed the new mobile WiFi Hotspot Huawei E5377. This week, we get the sample and it’s time to do a test with this new gadget. Users can get some useful information. The Huawei E5377 comes in a very small cardboard box like other Huawei mobile WiFi hotspots. There is only a short USB 2.0 Cable in the box, no other accessories could be found except for Quick Reference Guide and the security warning. Thus, users must unfortunately get a power supply, but this should not be a problem for most users, because ordinary AC adapter with micro USB port can connect the USB cable. If user has a mobile phone, the power adapter would work.

When we take Huawei E5377 in the hand, we feel the E5377 is very small and light. The black surface is quite valuable and not prone to fingerprints. Compared to other mobile hotspots such as the predecessor Huawei E5372 or the big brother Huawei E5786, Huawei E5377 is much more compact, which is quite an advantage if you want to carry the device in one hand or in the pocket. It is simple to power on the Huawei E5377: remove battery cover, Insert SIM (nano-SIM), insert battery and press power button on the front.

Operation of the Huawei E5377 is done via any browser on the web interface (address: 192.168.8.1) or via the Huawei HiLink app on your smartphone or tablet. The app is available for Android and iOS; if you are using a Windows Phone, you are forced to use the web interface to setup the mobile Wifi E5377. User can do the most important settings through the two methods. Further things such as the choice of mobile technology or the establishment of the wireless repeater can be made. Overall, the web interface is very fast and has many features; the design is now a little dusty and in need of optimization. On the other hand, the HiLink app on smartphones and tablets looks very modern and fresh, and it offers a wide range of functions. All information is quickly and easily visible via the APP, so most users may not be relevant to the web interface in the browser. To load the HiLink app, you can find a QR code is displayed on the Huawei E5377 and it leads directly into the App Store.

A few functions can be set using the button on the front of the Huawei E5377 for example, the WLAN frequency band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz), the use of data roaming, or wireless repeater. The LED displays status information, such as the consumption data, the online time or receipt. Also, the battery status (in percent) and the network technology are displayed. The display of the Huawei E5377 is easy to read in spite of low resolution. The link data such as the correct access point (APN) will be entered automatically by the device based on the SIM card. In our test on Huawei E5377, the APN for the network provider need to set manually.

Huawei E5377 has a modem chipset from Huawei subsidiary HiSilicon. The modem can support FDD-LTE by Category 4 with up to 150 Mbit/s in the downlink and 50 Mbit/s in the uplink on the frequency bands around 800/850/900/1800/2100/2600 MHz. In addition, TDD-LTE is supported in the frequency range 2300 MHz, this can be quite useful for a trip to Asia. Of course, the device is backward compatible with UMTS and GSM; On UMTS networks, Huawei E5377 supports DC-HSPA+ downlink speed to 42.2 Mbps. The receiver performance is good on LTE networks. The reception brother Huawei E5786 is a bit better especially with LTE on 800MHz. Huawei E5377 with UMTS 2100 MHz has good performance in the test. Next to the micro-USB connector under a cover, two connections for an external antenna (type TS-9) are available (Buy Huawei E5377 antenna from here: http://www.4gltemall.com/4g-antenna-two-ts-9-connector.html ) . Means Pigtail Adapter TS-9 to SMA can use all standard antennas with SMA connector. In the test with a LTE Antenna with two connectors, data rates in both uplink and downlink could be significantly increased.

HUAWEI E5377 Antenna connectors

The WLAN module of the Huawei E5377 can supply up to 10 devices simultaneously with wireless Internet. Another extra device can be connected using a USB connection to the E5377 router. The maximum data rate when tested at the 300 Mbit/s (according to Windows). Despite support for wireless 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, the latest WLAN standard ac is not integrated. The connection speed is absolutely sufficient for the full 150 Mbit/s. The particular feature of Huawei E5377 is the integrated wireless repeater. Once configured, it will automatically move from mobile to WLAN.  Here you can then connect the E5377, which sends the signal via its own Wi-Fi at up to 10 devices.

The unsatisfied feature at the Huawei E5377 is the battery: it has a capacity of 1500 mAh and provides an operating time of more than 6 hours, for outdoor use, it could ever become shorter. Fortunately, the battery is removable, so you can have a spare battery type HB554666RAW to replace it when power off. Alternatively, there is a battery with 1780 mAh for the Huawei E5377, this provides a longer operating time and costs little more. The Huawei E5377 LTE Hotspot is available with dimensions of 9.35 x 5.71 x 1.44 inches and a weight of just 82 grams including the battery; it’s one of the smallest and lightest mobile LTE routers on the market. Nevertheless, Huawei E5377 offers a very good quality. Huawei mobile WiFi series provides wonderful experience for network connection. The Huawei E5377 is the latest one and would become a new star!

Vodafone R226 LTE Mobile Router Test

$

We had introduced the Vodafone R226 4G LTE Mobile Router last year. But we just introduced a few simple features. Today we get the sample of Vodafone R226 and we will test the new LTE mobile router. The mobile LTE Router Vodafone R226 is packed in a stylish cardboard box with the Vodafone design. In the package, there is a power supply for an output of 5V/2A and a USB cable to charge the battery and connect to the computer. A brief guide to setup as well as a small sticker with Wi-Fi name and password is on the back of R226.

The design of the Vodafone R226 is very spectacular and it’s very similar to the Huawei E5786 and Telekom Speedbox LTE mini II. The reason is that the Vodafone R226 is manufactured by Huawei and comes from factory model Huawei E5786, so as Telekom Speedbox LTE Mini II. Due to the large Vodafone logo on the back and the front, the R226 could be immediately identified as Vodafone device. On the front there is a 1.45-inch screen and the power button. The button to turn on and off is illuminated, the press button to power on and offer. Compared to other mobile LTE hotspots such as the Huawei E5377, Vodafone R226 is a little bit large and heavy, which is mainly due to the strong battery.   A few functions can be controlled directly from the display, the menu and power button of the Vodafone R226, for example, the choice of the WLAN frequency band. The important status information such as battery level, network availability, consumed data volume and online time are displayed on the easily readable screen. If you want do more adjustments, you have to do it either via a browser (address: vodafonemobile.wifi or alternatively 192.168 .0.1) or control it via the app.

The Vodafone Mobile Wi-Fi app is available for both Android and for iOS and displays status information such as battery level and the data consumption. Manufacturer Huawei shows here with the HiLink app that it can be done much better, sleeker and faster, but unfortunately this app can only work with the Vodafone R226. The Web Interface is very fast when logging in it via a browser on the desktop. It is decorated in typical Vodafone design and is more reminiscent as a user interface of a wireless router. All functions and settings are provided with brief instructions in German, so there are also "normal" users to quickly setup the connection. The individual functions are divided into different categories, such as Wi-Fi routers and mobile broadband. A lateral sidebar always displays the current status information such as the reception level, no matter which side of the settings you currently are doing.

The options are quite extensive, but not exceptional. So you can create another connection profile if you want to use a SIM card from another provider different from Vodafone (Vodafone R226 has no SIM lock). The network technology can be set, such as the "only 4G" in areas with weak signals. As can be seen on the menu, the Vodafone R226 is already prepared for IPv6, a corresponding profile can be selected.

Up to 300 Mbit/s in the downlink on LTE network are possible via the Vodafone R226, at least in theory. The Vodafone network allows ideally a maximum of 225 Mbit/s, providing the LTE 800 and LTE 2600Mhz matching rate and corresponding radio coverage. But in the future Vodafone could also offer higher speeds on LTE Cat6. Since Vodafone R226 has no SIM lock, it could work well with other LTE network providers in Europe. In the test, unfortunately I could not test LTE-Advanced Cat6, since the corresponding technology was not enabled on my test site. But even without Cat6, the R226 router is very fast: up to 155 Mbit/s in the downlink and 44 Mbit/s in the uplink could be achieved.

In addition, the Vodafone R226 LTE router supports both UMTS and GSM. In the UMTS network, DC-HSPA+ with up to 42.2 Mbit/s downlink speed is possible. The reception on both LTE (800, 1800 and 2600 megahertz tested) as well as UMTS is very good, the Vodafone R226 is without doubt one of the mobile LTE hotspots with the best reception. The Vodafone R226 has the possibility to connect an external antenna. These are two TS-9 connectors under a cover on the side of the hotspots.

The built-in Vodafone R226 battery has a capacity of 3,000 mAh, the running time is about 9 to 10 hours. In continuous mode, the device is quite warm. Unfortunately, the battery is not replaceable by the user, although the back for MicroSIM and MicroSD card is removable.

The WLAN module transmits not only in the range of 2.4 GHz, but also 5 GHz. This is particularly advantageous if the 2.4 GHz band is overloaded. Unfortunately, the R226 only supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, the latest wireless standard ac is not supported. The maximum bandwidth over wireless is 300 Mbit/s when connected with multiple devices. This is very surprising, because the identical devices Huawei E5786 and Telekom Speedbox mini II LTE support Wi-ac with up to 866 Mbit/s. A serious disadvantage arising from the comparatively slow WLAN module: the full LTE Cat6 speed of 300 Mbit/s via WLAN does not begin to be used, so that the maximum speed of the USB 3.0 cable must be connected always. In practice, few users will interfere, but it is absolutely inexplicable why Vodafone and Huawei have installed this bottleneck.

Here now Vodafone R226 is available on www.4gltemall.com with good price. If you like it, welcome to check more details about it.

Huawei Ascend Mate 7 Smartphone Test

Large smartphones are in vogue. The Chinese manufacturer Huawei offers an extremely large device Huawei Ascend Mate 7 that can almost be described as small tablet. They have put considerable effort on technical facilities and the design. Almost the entire housing of the Ascend Mate 7 is made of metal, only above, below and the back material are plastic out of consideration for the antennas. The software relies on its "Emotion UI". To learn more about the Ascend Mate 7 smartphone, we will take a test on this phone.

High-quality packaging and good first impression

Huawei provides Ascend Mate 7 in an attractive package, which is definitely necessary for an expensive device. In addition to the smartphone, there is of course a power supply (output: 2A) and a USB cable included for charging. The USB cable can be used for data transfer to the PC. Furthermore, a headset and various instructions are included, and a small "tool" to insert the SIM and SD card, which is also urgently needed, because the card slots are laterally inserted in the body as seen, such as from the Apple iPhone or the HTC One ago.

The first reaction of most people when they take the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 for the first time in the hand: "The mobile phone is extremely large." For most users, it is even much too large. But for Huawei, the size is a clear argument. According to statistics, more and more people want to buy but a great smartphone. Regarding the materials and workmanship, the Ascend Mate 7 is processed not only high quality, it also feels very good. It’s a high end smarpthone to compete with other brands.

  Brilliant display, decent camera

The display is certainly one of the highlights of the Huawei Ascend Mate 7. The frame on the sides is very thin, so the screen takes up most of the front and thus looks very good. With a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels on a diagonal of 6 inches, the display is very sharp. The brightness is desired very well, so even in direct sunlight, there is no trouble reading the screen.

The camera in the Ascend Mate 7 can take pictures with up to 13 megapixel resolution, and there is even a front camera with 5 megapixel resolution for self-portraits or video calls. The quality of the camera was very well in the test under good light conditions, however if in dimly lit rooms, the camera was comparatively slow and the picture quality was not satisfying. Overall, the camera is decent, but in other smart phones we can find some better cameras. We suppose Huawei will improve this on newer upgraded model. The chipset in Huawei Ascend Mate 7 is a self-developed HiSilicon Kirin 925 Octa-core processor with ARM big LITTLE technology which could work with up to 4 cores and provides a very good speed. We can’t see any stutter or delays when Huawei Ascend Mate 7 working, which is certainly because of the emotion UI surface Android 4.4 KitKat that Huawei has put over. Emotion UI looks tidy and has many useful features. In addition, we noticed that many pre-installed Apps by Huawei (system) come up with a uniform design. The integrated memory size is just right with 16 gigabytes. Although the memory can be with a microSD card to expand, but at a maximum of card storage is 32 GB. This is very little for use nowadays, because there are already MicroSD card with 128 GB commercially.

Amazingly good fingerprint reader

Fingerprint scanners are at least on the rise in smartphones increasingly. But they often do not work as desired, and are unreliable. Here is where the Huawei Ascend Mate 7: The scanner is extremely fast, reacts with virtually no delay even when the finger is very dry or moist.  Huawei has currently (Feb 2015) clearly built the best fingerprint scanner, which you can find in a smartphone. Unfortunately, there are also two disadvantages: the largest is certainly the positioning of the scanner at the back of the device under the camera. In particular, if the device is on the table, the scanner is unusable. The second drawback is that only three fingerprints can be enrolled simultaneously. Devices from Apple and Samsung allow at least five different fingers.

LTE-Advanced Cat6

The Huawei Ascend Mate 7 is one of the first devices to support LTE-Advanced category 6 with up to 300 Mbit/s in the downlink and 50 Mbit/s for uplink. Although in our test, LTE-Advanced with great increase in speed was invisible, the Ascend Mate 7 is well prepared for the future anyway. Of course, GSM and UMTS are also supported and the 3G network via DC-HSPA+ is up to 42.2 Mbit/s. The receiving and transmit power of the Ascend Mate 7 is very good, even at low power supply; there is often a stable LTE reception. Also, the built-in (and not replaceable) battery can be proud of. Despite of a large display and good performance, the device can easily work for two days in normal use.

Conclusion: Huawei Ascend Mate 7

The Huawei Ascend Mate is in my opinion the best smartphone that Huawei has been put on the market. It offers a good design, qualified workmanship and is technically very well equipped. Particularly noteworthy is the support for LTE-Advanced Cat6 and extremely good fingerprint sensor. For me personally, the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 is much too large - in a normal jeans pocket, the device is hardly convenient to transport. But if that does not bother, the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 is a very good smartphone with an attractive price.

Huawei Hilink CarFi E8377 4G WiFi Hotspot

We had introduced the Huawei E8278 USB WiFi dongle last year, which could work as a mobile WiFi hotspot but looks like a USB Dongle. However, it seems E8278 is not a perfect solution for users because many cars don’t have a USB port for Huawei E8178. The good news is that Huawei reveals a new model Huawei E8377, also named Huawei CarFi.

Many people want access Internet in the car, but integrated hotspot solutions are usually reserved for luxury-class models. Huawei has recognized this problem and is now launching the new mobile LTE router HiLink Carfì for the 12V cigarette lighter connector on the market. The small CarFi could support up to 10 devices wirelessly via Wi-Fi and up to 150 Mbit/s high-speed could be achieved when surfing internet via LTE. With dimensions of 59 x 49 millimeters, the Huawei HiLink Carfì Hotspot is compact and easy to take without occupying much space in car. Once you have inserted the micro-SIM card and plugged Huawei HiLink Carfì into the cigarette lighter port, the hotspot can power on for operation. The management of Huawei Hilink CarFi could be done from web interface in the browser or on the Huawei HiLink app. Then the CarFi could work like other Huawei mobile hotspots such as Huawei E5377.

The maximum speed in the LTE network is around 150 Mbit/s for downlink and 50 Mbit/s for uplink with the category 4. The frequency ranges around 800/900/1800/2100/2600 MHz are supported. If the Internet connection outside the LTE network coverage is lost, the HiLink Carfì can also use the older wireless technologies UMTS and GSM. In the UMTS network, the downlink speed with up to 42.2 Mbit/s is possible in the frequency ranges 900/2100 MHz. The Huawei HiLink Carfì router has an automatic shut-off function. If the device is not used for 2 hours, it turns off automatically and must be restarted by pressing the power button on the front. The time to shut-off could be personalized in the web interface. If you want to use the router without power supply in the car, you can use the built-in battery.

According to Huawei official saying, the capacity of the capacity is 1900 mAh. The built wireless antenna in many cars cannot be used with Huawei HiLink Carfì. On the other hand, The hotspot solutions from Audi, BMW, Mercedes and so. on use the external antenna for the car and therefore have significantly improved reception properties.
