Huawei had released a new 4G LTE Mobile WiFi a few days ago in Suadi Arabia, named Mobile WiFi Pro 2, which is to replace the current Mobile WiFi Pro E5770 on the market. As a 4G pocket router with practical functions, Huawei Mobile WiFi Pro 2 comes too later than that we expected.

Like its predecessor Huawei E5770, the Huawei Mobile WiFi Pro 2 combines the pocket router and power bank function into one device. It can not only provide wireless network through WiFi & Ethernet cable for high-speed internet connection, but also charge other electrical devices.

Appearance

Huawei Mobile WiFi Pro 2 upper surface features a high-definition OLED screen with a 0.96 inch diameter. And it is decorated with artistic patterns and a unique contrast in the used materials, while maintaining a user-friendly operating button. The Mobile WiFi Pro 2 uses a metal frame in the middle and also provides a stylish leather handle that caters to the tastes of users and provides the port for charging smart devices and for Ethernet cable. There is also Micro-SIM card slot and extra slot for Micro SD card of up to 32GB.

LTE Advanced (Cat.6) Support

With Huawei Hisilicon LTE Cat6 chipset, Huawei Mobile WiFi Pro 2 could support LTE-Advanced networks on LTE Category 6, which means it could achieve peak download speed to 300mbps and upload speed to 50Mbps on LTE networks. The speeds are almost double of that of the first generation Huawei Mobile WiFi E5770 on LTE Cat.4 networks. Of course, they are both backward with 3G UMTS/DC-HSPA+ and 2G GSM, which would be available once LTE network is missed.

WLAN Improvement

Huawei also improved the wireless function for Mobile WiFi pro 2 to support maximum up to 32 WiFi-enabled devices, while the Huawei E5770 Mobile WiFi Pro supports only 11 users simultaneously. The WLAN features 802.11a/b/g/n/ac on dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz, but the Huawei E5770 had missed the ac standard and had only single band WiFi.

Large Battery Capacity of 6400mAh

The battery of Huawei Mobile WiFi Pro 2 is 6400mAh, it’s totally a common mobile power bank which can not only keep itself working for long time and also charge other terminals such as smartphones, Pads in case of power off. However, the capacity of 6400mAh may not be the best, because we know Huawei also had one Mobile WiFi named Huawei E5771 Mobile WiFi Plus, which has the large battery to 9600mAh. And other features are very similar to E5770.

Easy Connection without password

By using Huawei Mobile WiFi Pro 2, a connection can be established and devices can be identified using NFC technology or QR code and Huawei’s application HiLink without the need to search for the network and enter password to join the Wi-Fi network.

Here now, the Huawei Mobile WiFi Pro 2 is not yet available on the market, but we are keen to get this new 4G pocket router. We will show the test report once we get it. You can also keep close eye on www.4gltemall.com to get new information about Huawei Mobile WiFi Pro 2 and other 4G mobile broadband.

LTE CAT 6 modem

The Vodafone GigaCube router, also named Huawei B528s-23a, internally has a modern HiSilicon modem (Balong 722) which supports LTE category 6. In principle, the wireless connection can reach up to 300 MBit/s fast. In the upload, a maximum of 50 MBit/s can be achieved. The chip also supports the most important LTE bands for use in Europe. In detail, the LTE Bands includes band 1, 3, 7, 8, 20 and 32. If the LTE reception is not given, the GigaCube router can also switch to GMS or UMTS/HSDPA. Abroad, Vodafone excludes the use anyway! So you must get the unlocked Vodafone GigaCube if you want to use it abroad.

WLAN function with the GigaCube router

The GigaCube also provide the WLAN module supporting up to WLAN ac, so that wireless LAN with gigabit speed is also possible. The hotspot can bring up to 64 devices on the Internet simultaneously. On this point, the B528 is really powerful than its predecessor Huawei E5180 and E5170.

Other characteristics

Fortunately, there are two antenna ports on the back of the GigaCube router. According to Vodafone, the focus is on use in the stationary and in remote areas. This means you can use the router both at home as a DSL replacement or just traveling as a mobile Internet connection. Mobile use is officially excluded. Thanks to the antenna connections, the reception strength can also be improved in remote areas via external LTE antenna.  The B528 also does not have an information display, but only 4 Info-LEDs on the front. These give the user the most important back-ups, such as signal strength.

The only annoyance with the GigaCube router is that it was dispensed with even a battery. Thus, a permanent, stationary power supply is required. Also the GigaCube missed an SD card slot or USB port. Telephone is not possible by the way.

Conclusion

Based on the Huawei B528, Vodafone offers a powerful, modern router for its GigaCube. The model is practical and comes without much fault. Only the missing battery is annoying. We would do the performance test once we get the GigaCube in hand, keep close eye on www.4gltemall.com if you are interested in Vodafone GigaCube or Huawei B528 LTE Cube.

As Huawei's first 4G mobile hotspot with touch screen, Huawei E5787 had attracts customers' eyes when it's presented to public. Now the Huawei E5787 had already been available for many network providers in Middle East areas. However, if you had used Netgear 4G Aircards such as Netgear Aircards 790s or 810s, you may the touch screen feature on a LTE mobile hotspot is not a new feature.

On the screen point, Huawei is following the Netgear's steps. With the touch screen and easy operation, Netgear Aircard 4G hotspots had gained good reputation from many customers. Here comes the questions: what's the difference between Huawei E5787 and Netgear 4G Aircard(790s & 810s)? In this article, we will have a look at the difference between them.

Appearance

The three 4G mobile hotspots are all in rectangle shape and have a 2.4 inch touch screen on the middle of the front. As we mentioned before, user can operate the device throigh the touch screen. Users can do simple setup without having to log in the web management page. This is also the selling point for them.

The Netgear 810sand 790s have a "home" and "back" button at the right side of the screen while the Huawei E5787 doesn't have such button. They all have two connectors for external LTE antenna, which is important if the device is used at places with weak signal. The connector type is TS-9. The external LTE antenna can improve the network speed.

Technical Specifications

Huawei E5787 uses Huawei own Hisilicon LTE cat.6 chipset. The Netgear Aircards 790s and 810s both use Qualcomm LTE chipset like the predecessors, but they use different chipset model, Aircard 790s is based on Qualcomm MDM9230 and Aircard 810s is on Qualcomm Snapdragon X12 LTE modem.

With LTE cat.6 chipset platform, Huawei E5787 and Netgear 790s are same level products; both could support peak download speed up to 300Mbps and upload speed to 50Mbps on LTE network. Netgear aircard 810s is on a higher level to LTE cat11 and supporting downlink to 600Mbps, which is almost double of the speed from the E5787 and 790s. And aircard 810s is more advanced with support of 3 band carrier aggregation(CA) while the other two only support dual-band CA.

Perhaps Netgear 810s is targeted on top terminals, the 2G GSM network is not supported and only 3G UMTS/DC-HSPA+ is backward compatible. Both Netgear 790s and Huawei E5787 can switch to 3G UMTS/DC-HSPA+ or 2G GSM/GPRS network when LTE network is not available. Regarding the supported 4G LTE/3G/2G network frequency bands, it depends on the specific model.

The Aircard 810s and Huawei E5787 both support latest WLAN standards ac, but Aircard 790s missed the ac. But they are all with 2 x 2 MIMO technology. The Netgear Aircard 790s and 810S could both support up to 15 wireless devices to access internet while Huawei E5787 only support 10 users.

Battery and SIM card

Unlike Huawei E5786, the Netgear Aircard 790s & 810s and Huawei E5787 are with removable battery. The Netgear 790s and 810s both have the battery of same capacity to 2930mAh; Huawei E5787 has larger battery to 3000mAh. The two Netgear Aircards has the SIM slot for Micro SIM while the Huawei E5787 uses Mini SIM.   Regarding the performance of the network connection, we will do the test later and show full report accordingly.

You may have a Netgear Aircard 810s 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot . Aircard 810s battery for charging. However, there are some users of Aircard 810s who had a big headache for the battery charging issue. Today, we will share a case of solving the battery charging problem. Hope some users of Aircard 810s would have a reference to overcome their disorder.

This is a real case which happened on one of our customer a couple of days ago. The customer name is David Dakak from Cyprus and his company name is Conqueror Information Technologies FZE. Perhaps the Netgear aircard 810s is not presented by the network providers, he bought the unlocked aircard 810s from us(www.4gltemall.com) on May 1st, 2017. At first, we send the Aircard 810s to him via DHL, but after sending the parcel to DHL, we were informed that DHL would not send device with Li-battery. We don’t know why but have a find another shipping forwarder to make our customer to receive the device soon because they paid express shipping.

We are lucky to find Singapore post to send the parcel via speed post. The customer received the Netgear 810S on May 11. However, the problem comes from that time. David wrote email to us to claim that the Aircard 810s would not charge when the USB cable connect with the power adapter. Actually, we had tested the device working well before sending to him. We replied to him and want to get few images to check what the problem is. David is very kind to cooperate wih us; he had taken a short video to us about the USB connection with adapter and screen status. And when he pressed the power button and home button, there was still no any response on the Aircard 810s.

We guided him to pull out the battery from the Aircard 810s, leave the battery slot empty and then connect the USB cable to power adapter. This is the special feature of Netgear Aircard 810s, i.e without the battery in, it can still work when getting power from USB. This feature is also available in other Netgear devices such as Aircard 790s and Aircard 782s. Then the power lights on and we asked David to try to plug in the battery and see if the battery start charge but failed. When he plug in the battery, the screen of the aircard 810s is power off.

Then David pulled out the battery again and tried to connect the WiFi from Aircard 810s. After he connected with the WiFi, he logged in the web interface 192.168.1.1 and reset the Aircard 810 to factory default. Then he plug in the battery into aircard 810 and now the battery start charging. What amazing!   Perhaps the battery capacity is too low to keep it continuous working, David said the device may automatically switch off. After a long-time charging, this problem was also resolved finally.

This is one case on solving the battery charging issue of one of our customer. We share this and hope this would help other users of Netgear aircard 810s to find the way to overcome this disorder. In short, if the battery of Netgear aircard 810s is not charging, pull out the battery and reset the aircard 810s to factory default, and then plug into the battery for charging.

Appearance

The new Huawei Mobile WiFi Pro 2 has a small LED screen which to show the connection status, but Huawei E5771 WiFi Pro has only the power button and huawei logo on the front. They are both supplied with a short tap, which can hold the device and can also be used as USB cable for battery charge and data connection to PC. On the back, there Huawei Mobile WiFi Pro 2 shows the battery capacity to 6400mAh while the Huawei E5771 shows the battery of 9600mAh, which is amazing for long time working and charging other devices.

With the large battery, the Huawei E5771 and Mobile WiFi Pro 2 are not thin, the thickness provides the possibility to set the USB port and Ethernet port at the body side. Huawei E5771 WiFi Pro has on output USB and input USB port at side while the Mobile WiFi Pro 2 has extra Ethernet port besides two USB ports. Unlike Huawei E5771, Huawei Mobile WiFi Pro 2 has the power button and WPS button at the each side of the interfaces.

However, we didn’t find the ports for external antennas, which are available in many other Huawei E5 mobile hotspots.

Technical Specifications

As the latest Huawei Mobile WiFi, Mobile WiFi Pro 2 could support the latest LTE-A networks with LTE Cat.6 chipset to provide possible download speed to 300Mbps and upload speed to 50mbps. The Huawei E5771 WiFi Pro could support LTE Cat4 providing download speed to 150Mbps, which is only half of the speed from Mobile WiFi Pro 2. They both support 4G LTE TDD-LTE/FDD-LTE networks with backward of 3G & 2G networks.

As we know, the Huawei E5771 has many sub-models for different network providers and markets. There are Huawei E5771s-852, E5771s-856 and Huawei E5771h-937. We suppose the Huawei Mobile WiFi Pro 2 would also have many variant models, the specific model would be known when they are presented to the market.

As a mobile pocket WiFi, Huawei E5771 could support up to 10 wireless devices to access internet simultaneously while the Huawei Mobile WiFi Pro 2 can provide internet access for up to 32 users. And the RJ45 LAN port provides one more option for users get connected with internet.

The most attracting feature of the two Mobile WiFis should be working as the mobile power bank to charge other electric devices such as smartphones, Pads, Game terminals etc. The large battery of Huawei E5771 Mobile WiFi Pro shows its advantage on this point. It can only keep itself working long time, but also charge other devices for many times.

The WLAN standards of Huawei Mobile WiFi Pro 2 are IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac with dual-band while Huawei E5771 provides WLAN on 802.11b/g/n, missing ac and single band on 2.4GHz.

Management

As the standard offer for Huawei devices, Huawei Mobile WiFi app is available for users to do simple setup of the two mobile routers and if you need the advanced setting, you’d better enter into the web interface 192.168.x.1 from a browser.

In our opinion, the Huawei Mobile WiFi Pro 2 looks cool in appearance, and with the advanced features for LTE networks, it’s really useful for users, but Huawei E5771 WiFi Pro’s large battery and decent function, which is also enough for most users. Actually, Huawei E5771 is a budget mobile WiFi hotspot comparing with Huawei Mobile WiFi Hotspots.

NETGEAR AirCard 810 is a mobile router with the pocket dimensions. It is far smaller than many stationary routers and can easily fits in a pocket, backpack or in the glove compartment in the car. The out body is made of high-quality plastic, and the front lies a 2.44-inch touch screen. The back cover has the Netgear logo, removing the cover, we can see the battery.

Placed on the top edge of the Aircard 810, the power button is responsible for turning on and wake the device. On the opposite side, we find two connectors for external antenna connector and USB port for charging. And the connectors are covered with a sliding lid so there is no fear that this place will be gathered dirt.

Mobile Access Point

NETGEAR AirCard 810 supports 4G LTE category 11 connectivity and all the most important bands in Europe and Asia. So user can use the unlocked Aircard 810s in all European countries and Aisa areas. It is also important  that it supports for LTE FDD band 800, which will provide better coverage in the urban remote areas. The manufacturer provide the Aircard 810s with fast WiFi connectivity, which works in the standard 802.11ac, so provides adequate performance while streaming media and data transfer.

NETGEAR AirCard 810 can operate as a 4G USB modem if you do not want to use Wi-Fi. Another interesting feature is the Jump Boost, which allows you to charge smartphones and other small portable devices. The kit has suitable adapter to which we connect any USB cable for charging an external device. A great addition to facilitate the use of the router is the color LCD touch screen. To change the settings or check the current consumption data, no need to open a browser window and log into the control panel. Everything is indicated on the screen in a very accessible way.

On the screen you will find information about the battery charge status and range. This of course is not all. The manufacturer has not forgotten to use SMS; users can easily check the card inbox inside the router, you can also write messages using the touch screen.  Touch screen performs very well, and the operation does not cause problems.

Setup and Operation

NETGEAR AirCard 810 can be configured using the LCD screen already described. Same configuration is extremely simple and limited to a few steps, so even a person with non-oriented networking technology can operate it. After inserting the SIM card the device is ready for operation. During the tests, the network SIM cards just play and plus do not have to enter data network, and to make any extra settings. After the card is inserted, the Internet was just available. The thing you need to set up is Wi-Fi according to your preferences. By default, the network name and password would be displayed on the screen. After entering the settings, you can change and turn off their visibility.

The equipment supports dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz), and the use of the latter is available only when you turn the corresponding function in the settings. The strength of wireless coverage can be adjusted; we have available three values of the Long Standard. Selected the best possible range, of course, it is associated with shorter battery life.

NETGEAR AirCard Application

The mobile hotspot can also be possibly operated through a dedicated NETGEAR AirCard APP for Android, iOS and Windows Mobile. Its interface is clear and easy to read, and all settings are available in the APP. With this application in an accessible way, we can customize virtually all device parameters as well as from the touch screen. On the main screen, we see not only the coverage or the status of the battery, but also the consumption of data transfer in the current accounting period and during the current session. We can also see the quantity of the connected devices and send SMS messages.

Performance and everyday use

The manufacturer shall ensure that the NETGEAR AirCard 810 can easily handle up to 15 devices connected via Wi-Fi. I could not do the test so heavy load, but when you connect three smartphones, two laptops, TV and console, the aircard 810 can still work properly. You many also not complain about wireless coverage. The router is easily able to cover the range apartment with an area of 80m 2. Built-in battery should provide working time up to 11 hours. With the active Wi-Fi in the 2.4 GHz band and LTE connectivity (full range) easily, I was able to get close to this result and the router work almost 10 hours. The operating time can of course vary depending on usage. It is worth mentioning that offer NETGEAR's accessories are available for the device under test.

Summary

NETGEAR AirCard 810 Mobile hotspot is a device that would useful both at home and on the road if you need wireless network. Inside you will find modern components, which ensure the quality of the connection. It deserves praise with a wide range of supported LTE frequency and dual-band Wi-Fi working in a fast standard AC. The most important is that it’s very easy to use. The router can be controlled via the intuitive display or friendly mobile application.   For all the advantages described, unfortunately, you have to pay a lot but considering the capabilities of the device, the price is at high level now. If you need a budget one but good technical specification, the predecessor model Netgear Aircard 790s may be one good option.

Since Huawei firstly released the USB Dongle with WiFi hotspot function (called Wingle), there are many 3G & 4G Wingle models in the market. The Huawei E355, E8231 are the 3G WiFi dongle. As the LTE networks are becoming the mainstream, 4G LTE WiFi dongles becomes well-known now. More and more users found they are very useful and easy to take. Here now, only three manufacturers Huawei & ZTE & Alcatel had provided such products to market. Huawei had presented the model Huawei E8278 and latest new Huawei E8372. ZTE follows the steps of Huawei and presented the 4G LTE WiFi stick ZTE MF79 and MF75. The Alcatel presents the Alcatel W800 series WiFi dongle. Today, we will have a look at the difference about the Huawei E8372 and ZTE MF79.

Appearance

The Huawei E8372 and ZTE MF79 are both in the shape of USB dongle. You can say it’s a 4G USB dongle but the real function is to work as a WiFi hotspot. Huawei E8372 has three small indicators on the body with Huawei logo. The indicators are to show the status of Signal, SMS and WiFi. ZTE MF79 only has two indicators of WiFi and signal.

The body cover can be pulled out and the SIM card slot is there. They also provide the slot for Micro SD card for users to share files through WiFi. Besides the Model number, IMEI number and S/N, there is also WiFi SSID and password available on the label. Huawei E8372 provides a QR code, which user can scan the code and get connected with the WiFi, so users don’t necessarily enter the long WiFi password. What’s more, there are two TS-9 connectors for external antenna in Huawei E8372 but ZTE MF79 doesn’t have the antenna connector.

Technical Specifications

The Huawei E8372 and ZTE MF79 can work as a mobile hotspot, the only difference between them and the 4G Mobile Hotspots is that they don’t have battery. They need get input power from PC or power adapter. Once plug in the SIM card and get connected and power on, they can automatically connect to WAN network. And they are also different from USB dongle because USB dongle must work with PC, but they can work once they get power supply, for example, they could plug into the USB power adapter and start working.

They could both support the LTE category 4 and achieve peak download speed up to 150Mbps and upload speed to 50mbps. And up to 10 wireless devices could connect to the WiFi from the two Wingle and access internet. The WiFi standard is 802.11 b/g/n with single band 2.4GHz. They both supports the LTE various band and has sub-models for different markets. Of course, the 3G UMTS and 2G GSM/GPRS networks are backward compatible.

Regarding the internet connection performance and stability, we would take test next time on different network environment. If you want to know more details, welcome to follow our blog: www.4gltemall.com .

HTC U11 New Flagship Smartphone Available with LTE Cat16

$

HTC has introduced a new flagship smartphone: the HTC U11. The successor of the HTC 10 starts with very good technical data as a direct competitor to the Samsung Galaxy S8, LG G6 and Sony Xperia XZ Premium in the market. In free trade, the HTC U11 is sold as a dual SIM version, which is rather untypical for flagship smartphones and therefore particularly interesting. Also quite extraordinary: the HTC U11 comes with the latest Qualcomm chipset, the Snapdragon 835. The X16 modem included offers LTE category 16, depending on the network, data rates of up to 1 Gbit/s are possible. Higlight is the pressure-sensitive body ("Edge Sense") as well as the ultrapixel camera.

Design with glass and metal

The 2016 flagship HTC has yet shipped with a metal case, the HTC U11, however, has a glass back, as you already know from the HTC U Ultra. Only the frame is still metal. There are a total of 5 different colors, but some colors such as red may comes later available. The display is based on a 5.5 inch LCD with a 16: 9 aspect ratio (2560 x 1440 pixels) protected by Corning 3D Gorilla glass. Unlike LG on the G6 or Samsung on the S8, the HTC U11 does not have a special aspect ratio, which affects the dimensions of 153.9 x 75.9 x 7.9 millimeters.   A particularly innovative feature is "Edge Sense". The HTC U11 reacts laterally in the lower body area to pressure, so certain functions can be started quickly and easily, for example the camera. Basically Edge Sense is freely assignable, in the summer HTC would like to make an app available, which should then also allow macros.

Art technology

HTC is one of the first manufacturers to introduce the modern Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset. The heart of the smartphone contains many important components, especially processor, modem and WLAN chipset. The processor is a 64bit octa core, clocked at up to 2.45 GHz per core. The entire chipset is manufactured in the 10nm process and is therefore particularly energy-saving. The HTC U11 stands in the variant with 64 GB user memory by the way 4 GB of RAM available. A memory expansion via MicroSD card is possible; however, the dual SIM function is blocked.

The HTC U11 is especially up-to-date with the integrated modem. The Qualcomm Snapdragon X16 modem supports up to 1 Gbit/s in the LTE Cat16 downlink, up to 150 Mbps in the LTE Cat15 uplink. This is made possible by up to four bundled LTE frequency bands (4CC Carrier Aggregation) and by the 256QAM modulation in the downlink. The real speed that can be achieved depends, of course, also on the mobile network, in some countries, currently up to 500 MBit/s via LTE is possible. VoLTE and WiFi calling are, of course, also supported, as long as the network operator offers these services in his network. The LTE frequency ranges, which are supported by the HTC U11 as below:

  • FDD: band B4 / B12 / B17 / B28B20 / B5 / B8 / B3 / B1 / B7 / B32
  • TDD: band B39 / B40 / B38 / B41

In particular the support for band 28 (700 MHz) and band 32 (1500 MHz) is interesting. Currently, these frequency ranges are not yet used by the network operators, but this is likely to be relevant in the future and the HTC U11 is therefore very well equipped for the coming years.

Very good camera

The camera has been the focus of HTC's flagship models for years. Also the HTC U11 is the camera to be a highlight. It offers a resolution of 12 megapixels on the back and a resolution of 16 megapixels on the front. UltraPixel 3 technology is used on the back, 1.4μm pixels are designed to allow a lot of light to enter the sensor. According to DxO-Mark, HTC has the U11 as the currently best smartphone camera on the market.

Available from June

The HTC U11 can be pre-ordered immediately and is available from June. Some network providers may offer the single card version, but there is also dual-sim version on www.4gltemall.com .

Huawei Honor V9 Smartphone on Hand

$

The Honor V9 is the top Smartphone in the Honor brand, which was launched at a higher price than current models on the market. With the Honor V9, you would find the specifications are improved significantly. The device comes with Quad HD display, dual camera and HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor and comes with a super flat metal boy. Whether the surcharge to the "normal"Honor 8 is worthwhile and where are the strengths and weaknesses, should be described in this experience report.

Elegant Appearance

The Honor V9 is huge, yet elegant and beautiful to look at. The entire body is made of metal; the front is covered by glass with a rounded edge (2.5D glass). With only 6.97 millimeters, the device is quite flat, the 15.7 centimeters in height and the 7.7 centimeters in width, however, make the device so large that a single-handed operation even with large hands no longer possible. If you have not already possessed the same or similar size smartphone, one should definitely feel it in hand before the purchase. Here now Honor offers the V9 in different colors: red, blue, black and gold. There are three versions: 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM, 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM, 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM.

Good Specification

In this report, we will just provide a quick overview of the advantages and disadvantages. Among the advantages is definitely the 5.7 inch Quad HD display (2560 x 1440 pixels). It is not only very sharp, but also offers a great display quality and a very good maximum brightness. The thin body edges around the display are also to be mentioned positively.

Also the operating system and the software run smoothly in the test. Although the installed Android 7.0 OS is not the latest, but it is comparatively up-to-date and with the EMUI 5.1 interface, most users will probably get along very well, because it is optically nice and offers a lot of functions. The HiSilicon Kirin 960 Octa-Core processor with 4x 2.4 GHz and 4x 1.8 GHz clock power is the reason for this.

The dual camera on the back has two sensors: a 12 megapixel color sensor and a 12 megapixel monochrome sensor. Photos are sharp and are (as opposed to videos, more below) absolutely comparable to the images of significantly more expensive smartphones. In particular, the monochrome function is a highlight since the monochrome sensor can still provide good images even in poor light conditions. The battery is also clearly mentioned. With 4,000 mAh it offers a very good capacity and is recharged quite quickly thanks to Quick Charge technology. The battery runtime is normally two days during normal use.

Some drawbacks

The Honor V9 has also revealed some disadvantages in the test. Thus, in addition to the size, the strong heat development is particularly noticeable. The device has often been very warm after a short time of use, for example when apps were downloaded from the PlayStore and pictures were also viewed in the photo gallery. The loudspeaker is definitely not one of the strengths of the Honor V9. It is very loud if necessary, but the sound is quite flat.

Another disadvantage: the video function. The quality of the recorded video is comparatively bad, which can be determined especially by the strong noise (even in good light). In addition, the picture and sound are not synonymous, which appears when shooting of people very strange. The video function was tested by the way with 1080p Full HD resolution, purely theoretically, the Honor V9 could also record in 4K.

Since the Honor V9 is also a LTE telephone, the lack of Voice over LTE (VoLTE) function has to be mentioned. The brother models of Huawei (Mate 9, P9, P10, etc.) support voice telephone over the LTE network, but the Honor V9 cannot do this is not quite understandable. Also WiFi calling, thus the telephone over WLAN nets, is not supported.

Conclusion

The Honor V9 is a very smart smartphone, which is especially worthwhile for lovers of giant displays. Huawei offers a very good and up-to-date technical equipment and can score with a good software. In addition to many positive points, there are also some negative aspects, which should be conscious before a purchase.

Huawei E5180 Cube for Congstar Homespot Test

$

At the IFA, congstar presented its first mobile phone tariff at the beginning of September, which also officially foresees the use of Telekom's LTE network. However, the offer can only be used in a certain place, for example, to have a broadband internet connection in the caravan, at the campsite or in the student residence.

In the contract, congstar presented a WLAN Cube, also a suitable router manufactured by Huawei, which converts the LTE Internet access into a WLAN signal, which then makes it possible to provide internet for smartphones, tablets and notebooks with a wireless Internet access supply. A device can also be connected directly to the WLAN Cube using an Ethernet cable.

We have s the opportunity to test the homespot rate of congstar together with the WLAN Cube since last week. The SIM card must be inserted into the router slot. The WLAN Cube is then supplied with power via the included power supply unit. The PIN of the SIM card must then be entered. This works via the configuration menu of the router, which can be reached at address 192.168.8.1 via a connected smartphone, tablet or notebook. For future use, the SIM PIN can be stored so that it does not have to be entered again.

Congstar Homespot from Huawei E5180

The WLAN access data and the homespot model are to be found on the underside of the router, which in the original is called Huawei E5180. After initial commissioning, the SSID as well as the password can be customized. In addition, users have the option of switching from the automatic selection of the WLAN channel to manual selection. The WLAN Cube is supported only by the much heavily overloaded 2.4 GHz range. If you want to use a 5 GHz router, you have to check other models such as the latest Huawei B525 and Huawei E5186 wireless gateway. If you want to use your own router instead of the congstar WLAN Cube, you have to make sure that it has the LTE standard and the frequency ranges used around 800, 1800 and 2600 MHz.

However, the test also showed that congstar Homespot is not only working with 4G network. If LTE is not available at the desired location, the cube would work on 3G or 2G network automatically. We have switched the WLAN Cube, however, experimentally via the configuration menu to the GSM-only mode. Afterwards we were shown a strong signal.   In addition to the signal strength of the received mobile network, the configuration menu for the Huawei E5180 router also shows the current connection time and the transferred data volume. The WLAN status and information about the connected users are also available.

congstar as well as the manufacturer Huawei officially speak the E5180 Cube of a WLAN range of up to 250 meters. We have not achieved this value in practice. However, the signal is quite comparable to that of a classic DSL router like an AVM FRITZ! Box 7490. A mobile hotspot is much weaker. If, for example, a Huawei E5776 is only sufficient for supplying a small apartment or a hotel room, the congstar WLAN Cube can quite well cover a one-family house with wireless Internet access.

Speed Test Good

We have continuous operated the wireless hotspot over several days. Internet access was always reliably available. A restart of the router was not required to stay on reception. The two lights on the outside of the device, which on the one hand display WLAN availability and, at the very least, the current strength of the received LTE signal, is practical.

Over several days, we have examined the data transfer rates offered by congstar's internet access. The provider itself provides up to 20 MBit/s in the downstream. This value was also achieved in the test, whereby the LTE signal strength also plays a role here. If only a medium reception level is displayed on the router, the data throughput also drops.

On average, we reached between 20 and 21 MBit/s in the downstream and 5 to 6.5 MBit/s in the upstream. The response times were between 17 and 25 ms. The congstar homespot therefore provided similar performance data, such as a VDSL-25 connection in the fixed network. Even the somewhat higher latencies compared to the fixed net do not make themselves noticeable with normal surfing, with the use of e-mails, fairs, etc. It may not be the case for gamers, who need the lowest possible ping times.

It should be borne in mind that our performance tests have only been carried out at the location in Hessian Spessart, which is registered as the usage address for the congstar Homespot. We also carried out measurements on different days and at different times of the day. The results were quite similar, with Telekom's LTE-800 radio cell, which is available here, with a unrestricted data SIM generally providing data rates between 40 and 50 MBit/s in the downstream.

However, our results are not comparable to data rates and ping times at other sites. Depending on the number of users and the user behavior, depending on the network configuration and capacity, there can be significant differences. Above all, in cities it is quite possible that the well-developed LTE network of the Telekom has some overloading phenomena.

In summary, the Huawei E5180 congstar homespot is good for wireless supply at a house, but missing the 5GHz WiFi band. The Ethernet port is also good for desktop and the internet speed is also good for most cases. LTE Band 28(700MHz)

The frequency range between 703 and 733 megahertz (uplink) or between 758 and 788 megahertz (downlink) is defined as band 28. It is therefore an FDD LTE band (frequency division duplex, uplink and downlink are handled over separate frequency ranges). Globally speaking, the frequency range around 700 MHz is very popular for mobile applications, the band 28 is part of "APT700" and is seamlessly integrated into the LTE band 20 (800 MHz). Mobile broadband networks benefit from the additional usable radio spectrum. The advantages of the 700 MHz frequency range or band 28 are obvious: the spectrum allows a very good range and a comparatively very good indoor supply.

Network operators can offer a basic broadband supply in the country simply and cost-effectively and optimize the supply in buildings in cities. The disadvantage is the comparatively low radio spectrum per provider, the achievable speeds should be quite low with around 50-75 MBit/s in the downlink. In combination with other frequency bands (carrier aggregation with 800, 900, 1500 MHz, etc.), the data rates then increase rapidly, so that band 28 is an ideal complement to the already existing radio spectrum.

LTE devices for LTE Band 28 (700MHz)

Since many network providers had deployed the LTE band 28 for more than 2 years, many terminals are suitable for band 28, and more are added as time goes. Among them, many popular devices are from large manufacturers, for example the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Samsung Galaxy S8, as well as the Apple iPhone models from the iPhone 6. Xiaomi Mi 6 Unboxing

$
0
0

Xiaomi has been one of the top mobile phone manufacturers from China. The models from brand Mi can keep technically and qualitatively equal with Apple and Samsung but cost significantly less. Now we get the new Xiaomi Mi 6 mobile phone for test.

The Xiaomi Mi6 is equipped with a handy 5.15 inch full HD display, a Snapdragon 835 and 6 GB RAM. As an operating system, Android 7.1.1 nougat with the Xiaomi-own surface MIUI 8 is used. With this interface, the Android operating system not only expands a number of functions, but also virtually completely reverses it. Comparing with the similar phones from other brands, the Android smartphone is a real bargain.

Simple elegance is the motto of Xiaomi packaging. Nothing except that the Mi logo and the memory equipment is printed on the front. The stable lid can be lifted easily and then you can see the Xiaomi Mi 6, which is protected with a film on the front, back and camera lens against scratches during transportation. When we tested it, we have already removed them. The included accessories are hidden under the Android smartphone. The plastic bowl, in which the Xiaomi Mi6 is located, offers a small opening for easy lifting.

After removal of the plastic shell with the Xiaomi Mi6, a silicone cover in transparent black comes first. The actual accessory underneath is clearly and without further packaging in the box. Xiaomi does not have headphones, which means that you have to use your own headphones if you want to listen music yourself in the phone.

It comes with a USB type C cable, which charges the Xiaomi Mi 6 and is fed with data from the PC/Notebook. It also includes a power supply for Chinese sockets. A power supply suitable for European sockets is not included with the Android smartphone. More specifically, no Xiaomi device has such a device since the manufacturer operates exclusively in Asia and therefore does not have to enclose it.

Depending on the import wholesaler, a European power supply can be ordered either separately or as a service package already included in the package. The so-called global editions of the Xiaomi models are a special case: they already contain an EU-compliant power supply in the packaging. The power supply itself supports QuickCharge from Qualcomm for faster charging.

Furthermore, an adapter is part of the scope of delivery, with the help of which a cable headset can be used on the Xiaomi Mi6. Because: Xiaomi has like the Apple or HTC the 3.5 millimeter jack. Audio is only output via the USB Type C connector, which is one of the great features of Android since version 5.0 Lollipop. This has the advantage that audio hardware can communicate directly with the system, for example, to integrate an audio amplifier directly into the headset. Alternatively, of course, a Bluetooth headset with the Android smartphone can be used without problems.

The Xiaomi Mi6 is factory-set Dual SIM-capable. The device for opening the SIM slot is, of course, included in the package, which is stored inside the quick start guide. This is completely written in Chinese and therefore for the least understandable. Further instruction leaflets such as warranty information or instructions/information in other languages are not included in the package. It should also be noted that Xiaomi smartphones do not support LTE band 20 and LTE800. Only the special global editions have support for LTE800 and other languages besides Chinese.

Not everyone will like the back of the glass, which can quickly change by a protective cover. One of these is included in the Xiaomi Mi6 and makes it very well. It fits perfectly and protects the smartphone against accidental falls, without destroying the edge of the device. In the online shop of Xiaomi, there are further accessories such as more robust cases made of hard plastic, flip covers or sleeves in other colors.

In summary, the package content of the Xiaomi Mi6 is not exactly lush, on the other hand useful. Thus the carton is not unnecessarily heavy and the costs can be reduced. At a decent budget price for a premium smartphone in terms of technology and processing, the missing headset is a pain. Anyhow, there is no doubt that the Xiaomi Mi6 is a high budget phone with the technical specifications. If you are looking for a cool smartphone with good price, you may try Xiaomi Mi6. Vodafone GigaCube (Huawei B528) In First Test

$
0
0

Last month, Vodafone has presented the GigaCube for a package of routers and mobile phone rates. The router is the Huawei B528, which is also without Vodafone branding. Only the outer packaging carries the design of the telecommunication service provider. The GigaCube itself has the manufacturer Huawei's logo and there is no indication of Vodafone. Now we have the opportunity to have closer look at the GigaCube router.

Not suitable for mobile use

The Vodafone GigaCube is 105 x 105 x 181 millimeters in size. The body is not in small size, so you may not take it in hand like Huawei E5787 mobile WiFi hotspots. For this reason alone, the GigaCube is not suitable for mobile use, but it’s cool for the weekend house, the caravan, the hotel room or the apartment. In addition, there is no inserted battery or replacable battery in the Huawei B528 GigaCube. Instead, the unit is powered only by the included power supply.

As an alternative to WLAN, a notebook can also be connected to the router via a network cable. Such a cable is included with the GigaCube. The connector is located on the back of the device. There is also the socket with which the power supply is connected to the mobile hotspot. Under one flap there are also jacks, via which external antennas can be connected to the GigaCube. The connection for a VoIP telephone, which is also located on the back of the router, has been deactivated according to Vodafone specifications. We could not test this so far.

On the front, we can see not only the on/off switch and the WPS button, but also four light-emitting diodes. These indicate whether the B528 GigaCube is powered, whether the WLAN hotspot is available and whether the LAN port is being used. The fourth LED indicates whether the router is connected to the mobile network.

Easy Setup

The GigaCube can be configured via a connected computer, a smartphone or a tablet. The Internet address to configure the router is giga.cube, user need enter it in the Internet browser. The default password for the web front-end is located on the bottom of the router. Here is also the SSID and WLAN password specified. In addition, the SIM card (micro SIM format) slot is located on the underside.

After the SIM card is inserted directly and the GigaCube is switched on, the LED for the mobile radio reception is initially red. Reason: The SIM PIN must be entered via the web-based menu if the PIN search on the SIM card has not been switched off, which is at least partly the case with the operator cards defined for the GigaCube. After this, the initial setting can be made. A personalized SSID can be assigned, which can be connected with a special password.

On page 2, you can read about the function in the configuration menu, and to what extent, the GigaCube also allows the use of SIM cards from other networks. During the initial setup, the access data for the router menu can also be adjusted. In addition to own WLAN data for the hotspot on 2.4 GHz, the individualization for 5 GHz is also integrated. The settings can be changed subsequently. Furthermore, the user can decide whether to operate parallel to 2.4 and 5 GHz or only on one of these frequency ranges. In principle, the WLAN function can also be switched off completely if, for example, only a device via a network cable is connected to the router for the Internet access.

SIM free & Unlocked

We have also used a SIM card from other network provider such as O2, which has worked smoothly in the GigaCube. Say: The Vodafone GigaCube router was not equipped with a SIM lock or Netlock and it can be used with any operator cards. The access data for foreign networks may not be recognized automatically. To do this, a new profile must only be created in the Connection Setup - Profile Management menu.

What Interesting is the possibility to set up a VPN directly on the Huawei B528 router. The WLAN channels can be selected manually. These are automatically assigned by default. The user interface is very similar to Huawei's other mobile hotspots. The WLAN range is significantly higher than the Huawei E5776 mobile hotspot, which we had tested for comparison.

Fast Wireless Internet Connection

The GigaCube supports speeds of up to 300 MBit/s in the downstream via LTE, especially on the LTE-Advanced networks. Also Internet connections can be established with the router via UMTS/HSPA and GPRS/EDGE. In the first test, the Huawei B528 sold by Vodafone GigaCube left a good impression. The setup is intuitively possible (can be seen from the fact that the access data for the 5 GHz, WLAN area must be adjusted later) and the WiFi range is quite comparable to that of a FRITZ! Box 7490, which we had tested at the same Place.

The Vodafone GigaCube could serve as a DSL replacement, but less suitable for the more extensive file exchange and intensive streaming. Exciting is the possibility to use any SIM card. Thus, the Huawei B528 GigaCube can also be bought at the comparatively low price from www.4gltemall.com, for example on a holiday abroad, where the GigaCube tariff is not available, can also be used with a local SIM card. And there is newer model Huawei B618 LTE CPE Cube available now, which supports higher level LTE networks.

1 & 1 has now a new mobile WLAN router with LTE support from Huawei in its product range, which the customers can use with a notebook or tablet. The router is the Huawei E5573 in black color. The small LTE router Huawei E5573 looks cool and is very similar to its predecessor such as Huawei E5577 and E5373.   While the Huawei E5573 router is included in the package with a 1 & 1 Tablet-Flat as a free start gift, the prospective buyer for the mobile device may also benefit from the contract. A minimum contract term of two years applies.

With the mobile router Huawei E5573, up to 14 devices such as smartphones, tablets or notebooks can connect to the router through WiFi and then access internet. Thus the user does not have to use his own mobile phone access for surfing the Internet. The owner has the possibility to set up a WLAN password protection so that only authorized persons can access the mobile WLAN router with LTE.

The Huawei E5573 can either be connected in the mobile network via LTE or via UMTS. It should automatically select the fastest mobile connection. According to 1&1, the the 1 & 1 version of the E5573 also has a WLAN extender function, depending on availability, the router also connects to the Internet via a 1 & 1 Home Server at home or via a public WLAN hotspot. The original Huawei version of the E5573 also offers this function.

With the dimensions 104 x 65 x 14.6 millimeters and a weight of 106 grams, the mobile WLAN router with LTE support fits in any trouser pocket and is lightweight. The Huawei E5573 supports LTE speeds of up to 150 Mbps downstream and up to 50 Mbps upstream. According to the manufacturer, the 2300 mAh battery should have a standby time of up to six days and a continuous operating time of up to eight hours.

The WLAN interface allows a maximum speed of 300 MBit/s and operates in the frequency range of 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz. WLAN ac is unfortunately not supported, which is due to the not too high LTE speed of "only" 150 MBit/s.   It’s a pity that the Huawei E5573 has only one signal and battery indicator on the front, they are just located at the two sides of the power button. Unlike the latest model Huawei E5787 or Huawei E5786, user can’t read the connection information from the front. Users have to get the information from the huawei mobile wifi APP or log into the web interface for more details. Of course, the Huawei E5573 offer lower price than the Huawei hotspots with screen. But we still think the screen is necessary.

In the internet era, we need surf internet anytime and anywhere, but when going outside, the unstable WiFi and expensive charge on 4G may be a big problem for those who want high quality data transmission. And then the Mobile WiFi Hotspots are becoming a good solution for this. Today, we would introduce a new Mobile Hotspot from Huawei, and let’s see what’s new it bring to us.

Cool Appearance

The new model is named Huawei E5885 Mobile WiFi 2 Pro, more specifically; the model number is Huawei E5885Ls-93a. We suppose there will be other model numbers for various network providers over the world. If the new brother model available, we would also introduce.   Following the design from first generation of Huawei Mobile WiFi Pro E5770, the Huawei E5885Ls-93a is in cuboids shape, but it’s thicker and more elegant than E5770. The size of E5885 is just as large as one hand and user can easily take it in hand or pocket. It also looks like a common mobile power bank, actually, it can work as a mobile power bank to charge other devices by USB cable.

HUAWEI E5885Ls-93a Mobile WiFi Pro 2 front logo

The top half of the front is made of black plastic material, where there is a 0.96 inch OLED screen in the middle. The screen function is similar to its predecessor huawei E5786, but not a touch screen like Huawei E5787 mobile WiFi Touch. When the Huawei Mobile WiFi Pro 2 working, the screen would show the network connection status, battery status, signals, SMS and WiFi connections etc.. The rest half of the front is made of leather, which makes the Huawei E5885 very soft so as to have a very good touch feel. And we can see, the Huawei logo is just printed on the leather at the below side of the LED screen. The back cover is also made of leather with Huawei logo and the words “CAT6/6300mAh/23Wh”, which means the E5885Ls-93a could support LTE Cat.6 and has large battery of 6400mAh to have 23 hours continuous working time.

HUAWEI E5885Ls-93a Mobile WiFi Pro 2 back logo

The back cover of the Huawei E5885 could be opened and we can see the SIM card & Micro SD card slot with one Reset hole. Huawei E5885Ls-93a uses Micro SIM card. And the SSID, WiFi key, IP address, IP log in user name and password. There is also one QR code, where user can scan to connect, and the IMEI number, S/N number, certified logos are listed below.

HUAWEI E5885Ls-93a Mobile WiFi Pro 2 ports

The round side of the Huawei E5885 is made in champagne gold color, which makes the WiFi Pro 2 looks very cool. On the top edge, the WPS and power button are located at each side. Open the cap between them, we can see the 5V/2A output USB port, Input 5V/2A port and one RJ 45 Ethernet port. With the Huawei E5885, there is a sling which can not only hang the device but also work as a USB cable. It’s very useful for user to hold the E5885 WiFi pro 2, and charge other device. We see the design is also available on the Huawei E5770 mobile WiFi Pro and it’s really a good design.

Internet Connection via Ethernet

If only Ethernet cable is available for internet, Huawei E5885 Mobile WiFi Pro 2 can also show its function. Just plug the Ethernet cable to the RJ45 port and configure the settings through Hilink APP or web interface, you can then access internet. We suggest downloading the Hilink APP, connecting with the Huawei E5885 WiFi and open the APP for settings. To be more secure, you can also change the log in user name and password. The whole process is very simple and user can also do further settings if necessary.

Work as WiFi Repeater

The Huawei E5885L can also work as a WiFi repeater, which means the WiFi PRO 2 can get connected with the existing WiFi from other gateway or router, just like a phone connecting to WiFi. After connected, the Huawei E5885 can extend the WiFi coverage for more space. However, if the Huawei E5885 is already connected with Ethernet cable, the WiFi repeater function would be unusable.

Battery Saving and Guest WiFi

The Huawei E5885 is very smart in application. There is battery-saving function, when it’s activated, the WiFi Pro 2 would automatically close the WiFi if long-time data transmission so as to save battery. Sometimes, user may need setup a special WiFi for visiting guest, the Huawei E5885 can provide this function and if don’t need it, user can close this function easily from Hilink APP.

Storage Sharing without Data Consumption

The users connected with Huawei E5885 WiFi can share the files or videos in Micro SD card easily, what’s amazing is that the sharing would not cost any data, so it’s called ”Zero data consumption sharing”. It’s better to share the files, images or videos through the Huawei Hilink APP. The Huawei WiFi 2 PRO also supports sending short messages.

Fastest Wireless Surfing Speed

In our test, the Huawei WiFi 2 Pro would provide stable and fast internet connection. With the support 300mbps download speed on LTE category 6, Huawei E5885 can switch to the fastest network mode available so as to provide the best support for data transmission. It can definitely meet the common requirements whenever you are at home or going outside.

Chipset and technology

The Mi 6 gives the impression of a good-looking and high-quality smartphone. The large IPS display with a diagonal of 5.15 inches and a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels (full HD) as well as the fingerprint sensor can be found at the front. On the back is a dual camera next to the Mi logo, which has already available at the Honor 9. Positive: Apart from a good appearance in the colors ceramic black, black, blue or white, Xiaomi has designed the phone resistant to splashing water.

The built-in technology can be quite impressive. The processor is a Snapdragon 835 CPU from Qualcomm, which makes the smartphone neat. In this chipset, eight cores are hiding, each clocking up to 2.45 GHz and with a more compact design, it’s energy-saving. This includes 6 GB of memory and an Adreno 540 GPU, which is available for graphics-intensive tasks.

Powerful built-in camera

Also with the Mi 6, Xiaomi follows the trend in top models so-called dual cameras incorporate. These have two sensors and should be distinguished by a better photo quality. In addition to the main sensor, there is a sensor, which captures photos only in monochrome. This is to collect additional information about the subject, such as colors and details of the sharpness.

In the Mi 6, two sensors are with 12 megapixels. Since other smartphones offer partial cameras with 20 megapixels, a small excursion to photography is worthwhile here:  A high number of megapixels promises a sharper photo in daylight, but leads to higher picture noise in the night because many pixels are "squashed" onto a small sensor surface, Xiaomi seems to be well aware of this fact, since it does not only dispense with a large number of pixels, but also incorporates a larger sensor area than usual. For scenes in dark environments, the aperture can be opened on f/1.8. Optical image stabilization is also available. In front of Selfies, a camera with 8 megapixels is ready.

Videos are recorded at the rear with 4K, front with full-HD resolution. Since in particular 4K-Videos are very memory-intensive, users with the 64 GB version of the device in the medium-term are facing problems because the internal memory cannot be extended. Therefore, the reference to the variant with 128 GB storage space is advisable.   As usual, there are a number of standards in the Mi 6 which are intended to connect the device to the outside world. The features include GPS, NFC and Bluetooth according to the latest standard 5.0. The WLAN supports standards b/g/n and ac. The standard ac is particularly useful when the phone is to be used in areas with many WiFi networks, since the frequency range to 2.4 GHz, previously used With WLAN b/g/n. The latest standard also operates in the frequency range around 5 GHz and can therefore use untapped frequencies. The result is fewer disturbances and higher speeds.

Since Xiaomi has provided the Mi 6 so far only for the Chinese market, presumably in this area is also the biggest shortcoming of the new smartphone. Unlike in Europe, the network operators in the People's Republic of China do not use the LTE band 20, thus LTE radio around the frequency range 800 MHz.

In the case of the remaining LTE technology, the Mi 6 is more than the current technology. The 4G modem on Qualcomm's chipset supports LTE Cat 16. This allows up to 1 Gbps of data per second to be downloaded. Up to 150 Mbit/s is possible in the upload.   The battery has a capacity of 3350 mAh, which is charged via a USB-C connector. Another plus: With the software, Xiaomi has paid attention to the latest news and installed Android version 7.1.

Conclusion and availability

The technical specifications of the Xiaomi Mi 6 give a very positive impression. Current software, a large battery and the fastest CPU from Qualcomm are a good basis for a new device. Overall, we can conclude the Mi 6 a high standard smartphones with budget price. You will know it’s worth its price after using it. And you can get the Xiaomi Mi 6 from www.4gltemall.com .

Huawei B528s-23a(Vodafone GigaCube) Features and Test

The Huawei-built Vodafone Giga Cube (model number Huawei B528s-23a) is a mobile LTE router that brings Internet-enabled devices in the vicinity to the Internet. As known from the domestic WLAN router, users can use their smartphone, tablet or computer to enter a password into the Giga Cube network and thus connect to the device. The Giga Cube, in turn, connects to the Vodafone LTE mobile network. This is the case with speeds of up to 150 MBit/s on the Internet.

Fast WLAN ac, LTE theoretically with 300 Mbit/s The Vodafone GigaCube

supports the LTE Cat.6 standard  and is therefore theoretically designed for download rates of up to 300 Mbit/s. In the Giga Cube tariff from Vodafone, however, the actual maximum data rate is limited to 150 Mbit/s in the download. In the future, Vodafone should screw the LTE speed up in the tariff and the maximum upload is 50 Mbps. Thanks to the WLAN specification 802.11 b/g/n/ac, the Giga Cube uses the latest state-of-the-art WLAN technology to provide the best possible data transmission. The transmission in the frequency ranges runs at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. The range of the Giga cubes depends, of course, on the local conditions and, for example, on separating walls; In an open environment, LTE routers of this type reach up to 250 meters.

Up to 64 internet-capable devices such as smartphones, tablets or notebooks can be connected to the Giga Cube at the same time via WLAN. Alternatively, a Gigabit LAN port is also available on the back of the device. A TV, a computer or a game console can also be connected to the LTE router via LAN cable.

Surfing only with power supply

For use, the Vodafone Giga Cube is dependent on a permanent power connection. Anyone who wants to be online via the router needs a power supply nearby. At home, in a hotel or in a holiday apartment, this should not be a problem. At the campsite, a power connection is usually also possible. Even if the Giga Cube LTE router does not have a battery, the WLAN from the outlet is nevertheless very flexible.

Installation

Installation of the Vodafone Giga Cubes is actually very fast: simply insert valid SIM card into the SIM card slot on the back. Then the Giga Cube is still plugged into the socket. The Giga Cube then automatically dials into the Vodafone mobile network to establish the Internet connection. After that, of course, the used Internet-enabled device must be connected to the LTE router. This is usually done by entering the WLAN password - as is the same as used by the domestic WLAN router.

LTE network Keeping Upgrade

Vodafone has significantly expanded LTE in its mobile network in the last few years and is continuing this expansion on an ongoing basis. The LTE network cover is correspondingly high for Vodafone customers, but there are still areas where no LTE coverage exists. In addition, the maximum possible data rates vary from place to place. Speeds of up to 50 Mbit/s are already available in many places, but higher speeds of up to 150 Mbit/s are more rare. Where no LTE is available, the cube accesses the 3G network (UMTS) or GSM (2G) in an emergency.

All in all, the Internet speed usable with the Vodafone Giga Cube depends on the conditions on site. But even a data rate of 10 Mbit/s and more offers a neat surfing. It is also recommended to set the router for better reception close to the window. Actually, if you use unlocked Vodafone Gigacube or Huawei B528 Cube, you may get much faster speed to 300mbit/s on your own network provider rather than Vodafone.

Vodafone GigaCube Test

The Vodafone Gigacube is easy to use. First, the SIM card must be inserted, as soon as the GigaCube is powered, it can then go directly. The Vodafone "WLAN from the socket" is ready. The Internet speed in the Praxistest was quite high. Although we did not reach the maximum possible speed to 150 Mbit/s, the average available is more than 50 Mbps, which is always comfortable Internet surfing. The good LTE network availability in the state capital of Baden-Wuerttemberg does not distort the test result by any means, because Vodafone scores with a high network quality throughout Germany. Currently, more than 90% of the population can use Vodafone LTE.

The LTE network availability fits with the Vodafone GigaCube, in the daily use we had always a very good Internet line available. We also have nothing to complain about in the setup, WLAN-enabled devices can easily be integrated into the home network. This works either by entering a password or by using the WPS button. And Vodafone has also thought of the domestic PC, by means of network cable, the PC can also access internet easily.

If you want, the GigaCube can assign its own network name. After the first time the internet browser is started, the login area for the GigaCube user interface is automatically activated. Here you should also assign your own password directly. After this is done, the current data volume can be viewed here. This is possible on the smartphone or tablet alternatively also by app.

A great advantage of the GigaCube is the flexible use. This allowed us to put the LTE router into operation practically anywhere, only one power supply must be available on site. In the house or apartment it is recommended to place the GigaCube at the place with the best net quality.

Summary

Vodafone Gigacube is a good home router needing a power supply when working. It supports fast wireless surfing speed while the Ethernet cable connection is also possible for PC. The Gigacube is easy to setup and connect; management via APP or web interface is possible. If you are considering changing the DSL router, you may consider the Huawei B528 or Vodafone Gigacube for network upgrade with much faster speed.

In addition to GSM and UMTS, LTE is also supported, and Honor 9 has not yet published any information on the maximum possible speed. Besides the frequency range around 2.4 GHz, Huawei Honor 9 also supports the 5 GHz range.

The LCD display of the Honor 9 is 5.15 inches large and resolves with 1920 x 1080 pixels, so the device is comparatively compact for today's conditions. The glass, which protects the display, is rounded to the sides (2.5D glass), so the Honor 9 is more comfortable in the hand. Compared to the predecessor, the fingerprint sensor has now been placed on the front side, more precisely under the display. Many users should see this as an advantage, because you can use the sensor even when the device is on the table. The battery is 3,200 mAh strong, and is charged via USB type C.

Dual camera on the back

The Honor 9 has two camera sensors on the back, the one sensor with 20 megapixels and can only take only monochrome images; the second sensor captures images with 12 megapixels and shoots in color. The aperture is at f2.2, so the Honor 9 is not quite as bright as a Samsung Galaxy S8 (f1.7).
